Dr. Tamara Jo Thompson, MD

After laboring for along period, Dr. Thompson informed me that she would be leaving by a certain time to attend an activity that her daughter was participating in. She informed me that her assistance would be stepping in to deliver my baby, when I was actually ready to deliver. Dr. Thompson had left for her daughter's event. I went into active labor and was ready to deliver my baby right at the time that Dr. Thompson informed me that she would no longer be available but she returned to the hospital/delivery room just in time to deliver my baby. She was absolutely awesome!

I have seen Dr. Thompson for almost 10 years. My previous OB left for a teaching position. I am very happy with Dr. Thompson and surprised by the one or two negative reviews. She is a very good doctor, spends time to listen to any issues you have and was always helpful. This office is very quick in getting patients in and out except for in an emergency when the doctors have a delivery. I only had this occur once and they called me in advance to let me know. I would recommend her have done so many times.

She was very cold with her responses to my health and pain durring my pregnancy. I was told by my previous doctor that my pregnancy was high risk for many reasons. And i explained this to her and told her that with all of my pregnancies I needed to be on bedrest. Instead of try and help me with my pain during my pregnancy she told me that my pain was normal and that i could continue to work. And she told me that I could always just get a desk job. A DESK JOB?! I couldn't believe that she would say such a thing. And I thought to myself well go find me a desk job since its something she thinks everybody can just get. She and her staff are just rude. I will never again go to her office again. And besides their rudeness the waits are very long. Im in the office for 1-2 hours just to see the doctor and the nurse for a total of 15 mins.

I was looking for a new OB/GYN and came across Dr.Thompson, So I decided to make an appointment, making the appt. was easy. But when I got there her staff was very rude and she did not spend any time with me I had concerns that I wanted to speak to her about and when I did she just brushed me off she was more concerned about the type of insurance I had. I will NEVER return.

I really like having a young physician. She was very personalble and understood my medical needs.

Dr thompson performed a procedure that made my condition worse and showed no source of empathy or solution. Her staff was also rude and felt it was appropriate to discuss my patient balance in the lobby in front of other patients. I do not recommend this provider

Last week I had an appointment with this doctor and just happen to have a maniers decease attack in her waiting room. Only one staff member got up to help me. They seemed cold and distant. They took my 15:00 co pay the doctor talked to me and told me to call her again once I made up my mind. When I called her the next week I had a cathater in me and I was bleeding. Her staff said she will try to squeeze me in. Waited 20 min in wting room with a cathater on & bleeding finally got called back to wait another 15 min. assistant told me to get undressed from the waist down. When dr finally showed she didn't even examine me. She just presented me with the option of cutting on me and made it clear to me that was my only option. She was cold, showed no emotion and was not compassionate. She was mean as they came. She left the room not telling me if we were done and after 5 or 10 min of waiting I finally got dressed and walked out the door I asked if I was done "Yeah Go" was the reply.

I had two terrible experiences with some OB places and it was heaven to go to midtown and work with dr. thompson and her staff. I was floored from the first minute by the caring and kind nurses and receptionists- truly they are top notch staff and just overall wonderful people. I felt that Dr. Thompson was very knowledgeable and trusted her judgement. She is very kind and very caring, although sometimes her manner can be a little abrupt, but not even close to the point of being rude, and I appreciated her timeliness. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone and everyone!
