Dr. Tami Renee Bruce

EXTREMELY HUMILIATING

I’d give her a zero if possible! Our doctor retired, so I went with my 75 year old mom to see Dr. Bruce for a visit to discuss MRI results. Dr. Bruce immediately started questioning our previous Dr, whom she worked with for 22 years, about the meds he had prescribed for my mom. She was so rude, condescending, and very unprofessional. Her tone was “annoyed” and her first words to us were “Just so we’re clear, I do things very different than Dr. Edwards.” She kept asking “Why are you taking this?” “Why aren’t you taking this other medicine?” “Why is the dosage this” “Why aren’t you taking this every day?” “Why would you take this everyday?” My mom and I had seen Dr. Edwards for 30 years and we trust him 100%. If she had concerns, the way she went about expressing them was horrid! I’ll remind you, that we were there for MRI results but we’re basically attacked for following our previous doctor’s recommendations about medicine. My mom was worried about the MRI results to begin with, but… basically shut down with Dr. Bruce’s verbal attack. It was all I could do to keep her in the room when Dr. Bruce left to take a phone call in the middle of our appointment. After her lecture about medication, she half assed went over the MRI results with no explanations about what things meant in layman’s terms and seemed visibly annoyed when I asked for clarification. We left there with 2 doctor referrals and a plan to find a new doctor ASAP! When my mom called to tell the office she would not be a patient anymore, they sent a letter stating that we were not welcome back. I’ve heard now, of many others that have had the same experience with Dr. Bruce and I wonder how Central AZ Medical Associates keeps her around.

The most impatient, rude, and pushy doctor I have ever met. Doesn't listen, doesn't even pretend to care about your questions or issues, will prescribe medications that you specifically mentioned did not work well for you, will intimidate you with questions like "what is your formulary? you should know this" when you ask about medication options (instead of providing the patient guidance on what medications are best for the circumstances). Stay away. Unless you like being pushed around and treated rudely.

She's not too bad. She does have a limited time to spend with you, so you need to be concise and specific. She does suffer from the common doctor's ailment of believing in her own infallibility, but I've seen worse. Overall, she seems like a genuinely caring person trying to do her best, so I've keept going back to her for the last 3 years.

My experience with this doctor was terrible. She didnt listen to me. Didnt want to refill my high blood pressure pills. I tried to tell her about my condition she didnt want to hear it she was very rude and uncaring.

1.This doctor's office is VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! Customer Service is aweful! If you need a referral, the turn around time for that unacceptable! You have to wait a week, even if you're in unbearable pain! No sense of escalation for patients who may be dying to get a referral! Their referral line always states "You are calling afterhours" even when you're not! I have called from 9am - 1pm on a Friday and Monday and it still states I need to call during normal business hours! I would definitely NOT recommmend this office to be anyone's pcp!

Dr Bruce has been my doctor for a long time, she always spends time on my check ups and asks questions to make sure things are going ok, she really cares. The office staff is very friendly and helpful I would recommend Dr. Bruce to anyone.
