Dr. Tami Olive Tiamfook-Morgan, MD

This doctor took the liberty of interpreting my hip X-ray as "just a little minor arthritis" . Here are the facts: a: Months down the line, a hip preservation specialist assessed my x ray as enough to justify hip replacement b: Every doctor I showed my X rays to made clear to me that I had MORE than "just a little minor arthritis". c: Every doctor I showed my X rays to denied assessment of: "just a little minor arthritis d: The radiologist interpreting the X ray made no assessments as to QUALIFY the extent of the arthritis e: Tiamfook is neither conversant nor qualified to interpret extent of arthritic damage in an X ray and most certainly not in the position to qualify the extent of it when the radiologist himself makes no mention of extent in terms of a scale in which an interpretation of "just a little minor arthritis" could be concluded from any said scale of rating. f: Tiamfook told me my anxiety was in excess of the X ray findings of "just a little minor arthritis" and… to see a shrink. g: She did not suggest seeing an orthopedic surgeon, radiologist or any doctor who would/could be conversant in interpreting the X ray in terms of the pain and symptoms I was describing. Here are the circumstances: a: "Anxiety disorder" was on my medical chart b: I exhibited anxiety in the emergency room when I found they were about to take an X ray of my HAND and not my hip. I was concerned about medical mistake made. If for not being pro-active about that mix up, I would have had an X ray to my hand and not my hip. She was aware of this. c: Yes, I had anxiety (many people would) subsequent to hip pain for one month that did not resolve and left me with a painful limp. Hence a visit to the Mt. Auburn ER. Conclusion: Tiamfook did not differentiate what would/could be normal anxiety when a patient enters ER after finding they can no longer walk normally without pain and limping. There always will be some anxiety element when patient has pain, knows something is wrong, does not know what it is, goes to ER and in this process witnesses an medical mistake about to be made. She elected to ignore the anxiety any patient would have upon finding that after an evaluation with main doctor in ER subsequent to hip/groin pain, the prescription given to radiology is for a HAND X ray. (medical mistakes, med mix ups). Instead, she elected to prejudice the findings of the hip X ray (that was finally taken after I corrected the mistake for hand X ray) based SOLELY on seeing 'Anxiety disorder' on the chart. She discounted my symptoms to 'anxiety disorder' because she saw that on the chart. She also discounted the findings of the radiologist as to resolve findings he did not make himself to "just a little minor arthritis". She, as a doctor performed a disservice to me as a patient by undermining my symptoms in favor of resolving all to an anxiety disorder and willfully MISINTERPRETING an X ray to do so. The disservice done resulted in my thinking my hip joint was NOT a problem and hence not seeking appropriate treatment or evaluation for it in a timely manner. Although the ER is not the place to 'fine tune' the extent of what ever orthopedic findings present and X rays are commonly used to rule out fractures or dislocations, it also should not be a venue for a young and inexperienced doctor to discount physical symptoms and X ray findings that could explain them to a pre-existing diagnosis of anxiety disorder and in such a way that MISLEADS the patient to thinking they should seek out a shrink for orthopedic problems.
