Dr. Tamra Chanel Jones-Brooks, PhD

Dr. Jones-Brooks evaluated my case through VES for my VA claim. When talking she found out I had three sons, she said,”oh you raised three kings?” Right then I knew she was a good person, she listened to my truth and suggested that in my next government job that I seek help to receive reasonable accommodations. She asked me about my current treatment plan abs suggested that I be seen more often. I told her I would have like her to have been my Dr. she is good at what she does, I can only speak to my experience. A good person with a gift of discernment for people and their needs.

I've been working with Dr. Brooks for a year and half, and it's been the best therapeutic experiences I've ever had. She is very professional, but still has the ability to make you feel calm and relaxed. I feel like I'm talking to a friend; and that's exactly the type of therapeutic relationship I was looking for.

Dr. Brooks saw my daughter for a few years and now she is about to go off to college. I seriously don't think that we would have gotten to the point without her. So grateful, shes just a really cool, down to earth, polished professional. She also didn't mind laughing about silly stuff, going to miss her!

I've been seeing Dr. Brooks for about a year now and recently referred someone to her. The person looked over her reviews (all great) with the exception of one review. I saw the one review and thought okay people seriously need therapy for a reason. The person that I referred was eventually able to get on the schedule and still decided to see Dr. Brooks. She has continued to see her for about 4 months and like everyone else, she thinks this woman is great too!

Dr. Brooks hung the phone up on me when I was trying to resolve an insurance payment information with her. She is the most disrespectful person I have ever dealt with. On top of that she consistently spoke over me when I tried to explain my point of view. She caused me to have a mental breakdown which is preposterous given that she is supposed to help her patients and not be the reason her patients have mental health issues.

I just finished seeing Dr. Brooks and I literally almost cried. Weird but I really just appreciated how supportive she is. Would only consider working with her again if I needed to see someone in the future.

Dr. Brooks is a compassionate, thoughtful, and thought provoking psychologist. She challenges you to come out of your comfort zone, to uncover whatever is binding you. She does this in such a way that even if you feel an uneasiness from uncovering your truth, you feel comfortable and safe. She provides practical solutions that have long-lasting effectiveness. She's amazing!
