Dr. Tania Monge Lee, MD

DO NOT GO TO DR. LEE!! Her office staff is very rude and incompetent. She kept trying to tell me that I had to pay for a follow up visit that was covered 100% by my insurance. He nurse practitioner/medical assistant is also rude. She had no people skills and was on her cell phone texting while taking my vitals. She never once looked at me and when I asked her about my blood pressure reading she just said, "Oh it's good." My first visit with Dr. Lee herself went well. The second follow up visit was a nightmare. Between the receptionist continuously telling me I have to pay for every office visit, no visits are free. ??? I told her I will just call UHC myself and she told me that she'll call the billing manager so that she could explain to me why I owed for the office visit. Then when I called UHC, I found that not only did I NOT owe for the follow up visit, I also should not have paid the $50 co-pay that I paid for my first visit because it was completely covered by my insurance and the… office staff no billing department have any intention of telling me that I had paid them when I shouldn't have. They actually were going to charge me another $50 co-pay! After the front office receptionist called UHC herself and confirm the information she just told me, "Ok, you don't owe anything for today so you can just go back and see the doctor." She was so rude! I assume by that time I got back to Dr. Lee (this took about 30-40 mins to clear up) she was informed that I had called the insurance company and found that I didn't pay today's co-pay they tried to charge and that they owed me a refund for the first co-pay. She had a COMPLETELY different attitude when she came in the patient room. She didn't look at me, mumbled a hello, and then just started barking orders at me to lay down and slide to the end of the table, spread my legs wider, then when she inserted my IUD (This is my 4th IUD btw) it was the MOST PAINFUL thing I've ever endured next to child birth!! I was in tears gripping the table and groaning in pain and when I look between my legs she was actually smirking at her nurse. She left abrubtly and didn't even offer me a pad. Then she sent me a letter terminating me as a patient of hers, all because I refused to pay money that I DIDN'T OWE HER. Although, I had no intention of returning to see her due to this visit and how I was treated, I am happy that she put something in writing to terminate our relationship as physician/patient. I plan to include it in my formal complaint to the Texas Department of Insurance Fraud Unit. I am requesting a FULL and THOROUGH investigation of Dr. Lee's billing department and practices. She is unethical, immoral, and once I discovered I was owed a refund and requested it, she became completely unprofessional and nasty to me. I wouldn't recommend her or this practice to ANY woman. I've had to schedule a follow up appointment with my previous GYNO to do an ultrasound to be sure that my IUD was placed correctly because even though Dr. Lee told me on the first visit that she would do an U/S at the followup visit, once the IUD was put in she FLAT OUT REFUSED to do an U/S saying I didn't need it anymore. I have been having severe pelvic pain for the past 5 days and hopefully my old gyno can fix what Dr. Lee did to IUD in my uterus and the pain in my cervix, which she admitted that she clamped the sides too hard and they were bleeding heavily from her roughly opening my cervix. She didn't show any sympathy for the immense pain that I was in and told me to get up from the bed slowly so I didn't faint and left me in the office alone and didn't come back to check on me and like I mentioned earlier, NO ONE came back to offer me a pad even though they knew I was bleeding from the insertion. STAY AWAY FROM THIS DOCTOR AND THIS PRACTICE!!! They're ALL about the MONEY. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE PATIENTS AT ALL.

Dr Lee is very polite and knowledgeable. Short wait time. She takes the time to answer all my qustions and concerns.
