Dr. Teddy L Atik, MD

After an accident at the gym with a 55 lb weight causing the top part of my finger to become severed. After going to the local emergency room for temporary stitches, I was told that I needed finger reconstructive surgery. I was referred to go see Dr. Atik for surgery in his Toms River location with Follow-up visitors in his Eatontown office. Dr. Atik is friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and patient. He was able to save the top third of my nail bed and use healthy skin to graft onto what would be the new endpoint of my ring finger. I couldn’t be happier with the surgery he did on my finger, and I will be resuming weight lifting within a few days again!

I am actually in disbelief about this practice. The most unprofessional staff. I have never experienced the total none-existence of empathy or caring. The staff sounds miserable. Even the person calling to confirm the appointment. Isn't this automated elsewhere? Not to mention that she was confused. But now I understand their situation and I feel sorry for them. They must be working minimum wage for the cheapest bunch of doctors on this planet. These doctors must only care about their bottom line and nothing else. I had a 2:30 appointment. Rushed over from work. Usually, keep a mask in my car. Unfortunately, I didn't have one this time. Called the office from the parking lot certain that they would have an extra mask or at least show some empathy for my situation. I got neither. Just rudeness and a comment ”we told you to bring a mask!” I politely asked if possibly someone in the office had an extra mask. They all have to wear them every day. More rudeness. We have to supply our own… masks. Why would we have any extra? No one gets masks for us. She actually laughed about it. I had bunch of annual check-ups recently and every office had extra masks. Some actually asked that each patient switch to their mask. This is not even about my appointment. But do you want to go to a practice like this? Where there is no care about staff or patients. Just making money off patients. So all other offices provide masks. Nail salons provide masks. It was just plain horrible. I think I want to donate some masks to this practice. They need help. A lot of help!

Dr Atik has treated my wrist recently after having severe pain for few months. He is sooo patient and professional . Being in the medical field myself, I was so impressed by his attention to the patient’s needs and care. I definitely recommend him to my family and friends.

Dr. Teddy Atik is a doctor who did not care about his patient while he demeaned her mother right in the room. He said that the office information was wrong with appt. and cast info. on two visits and does not like to be questioned. He called the questions argumentative and aggressively grabbed cast to cut it off, saying he can see where this appt. is going to go, let's just take it off. When I questioned the correct treatment vs. what the receptionist said, he said he's the doctor and what the office tells me to follow is not on him. I work in the healthcare field and he is responsible for the office not separate. How unprofessional and demeaning he was to me as a woman, looking at my husband whenever he answered me rudely. Seven other parents said he is not know for kind bedside manner and talks to woman poorly. My daughter is the one that suffered because a doctor decided he doesnt like to be questioned on a patient's treatment.

Even though he couldn't help me. I must admit that he is the nicest doctor I have met in a long, long time.

Dr. Atik is a great doctor and a kind man. He is thorough and knows what he is doing. I am very particular about doctors and I can honestly say that I trust Dr Atik with my care.

Eatontown office lacking. Go to Freehold office. Much better experience. Dr Atik is w o n d e r f u l!! Five stars

Dr. Atik was calm, patient, kind, and had all the time in the world for me. Every time I asked a question, he stopped everything he was doing to thoroughly answer me. If I hadn't asked questions, I can see how the visit might have felt kind of fast. You never have to feel rushed or stupid asking questions with this guy. He's the nicest. Now I have to get an MRI of my wrist to get a diagnosis and treatment. So maybe I have to write another review after that.

Was very optimistic initially, already knew diagnosis of Trigger Finger ( thumb ), tried Cortisone injections but knew surgery was likely. Arrangements went smoothly. Nurse in O.R. mentioned how quick he was. Afterwards told to "keep it elevated" and take prescribed antibiotics. Returned 2 weeks later, brief meeting, nurse removed stitches, incision was not closed snuggle shut. Told to come back in 2 weeks. Had returned to light duty, retail sales, tried to keep it elevated when hand wasn't needed and while at home and while sleeping. Hand swelled considerably and began to leak clear fluid with tiny bubbles almost non stop ( had to change bandage 4 times a day due to saturation. Dr. Atik was concerned about possible infection. Scolded me for not keeping it elevated, above my heart, ALL THE TIME. I said if that was his desire he should have given me a sling of some sort. He asked if I had been keeping it properly iced, and I asked what he was talking about ( as this… had NEVER been directed ). The leakage finally stopped a few days later. Extensive swelling of all fingers and wrist kept me from working for 4 days and was told that physical therapy would take care of that ( this was the 1st time P.T. was mentioned ). Ibuprofen and ice made no difference but my wife's Naproxen was a godsend to reducing swelling. Incision is now closed and first P.T. session was helpful. Feel that post op instructions were seriously lacking as well as attention to reducing considerable swelling. Would not go back to him again for these reasons.
