Dr. Teresa Valerie Chan-Leveno, MD

I was examined by Dr. Chan following a determination that I had a dizzy condition that was determined to be Vertigo. When I went to see Dr. Chan I was still experiencing the dizzy spells that would nearly cause me to fall when my head was held in certain positions. Upon examining me Dr. Chan identified my condition as Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo. She took me into a treatment room and administered a corrective procedure that solved my problem. I was impressed with her thorough exam and the following fix for my condition. She is very thorough and very professional.

I had a perforation involving the anterior portion of my eardrum (which makes visualization and closure more difficult) that went unfixed for many years. Other doctors I visited were not willing to do an endoscopic transcanal myringoplasty and wanted to use more invasive techniques (e.g. retroauricular). I approached Dr. Chan asking for a variation of a fat graft myringoplasty that used a hyaluronic acid ester in conjunction with the fat (HAFGM). Dr. Chan stated she was on board with using an endoscopic approach, and that while she would normally use a butterfly cartilage technique (which has a similar success rate and is also not as invasive), that the literature on HAFGM I brought seemed to indicate it would be a feasible option. Three months after my surgery, my perforation has totally closed. Dr. Chan is likely one of the best otolaryngologists around; she takes the time to actually listen to her patients, she is an excellent surgeon, and she is personable and friendly.… I would recommend her to anyone in need of a great ENT.
