Dr. Teresa Hongchen Lam, MD

I had the misfortune of having Dr. Lam as my hospitalist for one day at SW Medical Peacehealth Hospital. I had no contact with Dr. Lam at any time prior to a three minute discharge conversation at 2pm. It was apparent she had not read my hospital visit records nor had any idea who I was. When I asked for the discharge diagnosis, she had a blank expression & found it necessary to scramble through the paperwork. Her written diagnosis did not match the information provided by a neurologist and the emergency room physicians. I am in the process of filing a complaint with the hospital.

This doctor has no bedside manner, does not communicate with family. Relies on nasty nurse to enforce her will. Treats family as though they cannot understand or handle the patient's condition decides how things will be for patient instead of considering what he wants and does not treat him like an individual. The truth would have allowed his wife and family the meaningful conversations they all needed as he left . After half a century with his wife, the two were kept in confusion and those last words they might have shared were stolen as the doctor and nurses played mind games, focused on his death instead of his quality of life. The most important concern became getting the DNA paper signed. . Any doctor would be a better choice
