Dr. Teri Lou Miner, DO

Teri Miner is an amazing doctor. Shes caring and really listens. Not only does she want to take care of your health, but she takes mental health into play too. The only thing is that its REALLY hard, ive found, to schedule and appointment/physical with her. I find myself waiting in the room for awhile before I see her but its because she cares and takes her time with every patient she sees. Shes never in a rush to the next appt. When I cant see her, I see her NP Laura Phillips who is also AMAZING. I cant speak highly enough about her.

Dr. Miner treated me in urgent care for aching in my chest. She was caring, asked a lot of questions and explained a lot of possibilities. She ordered numerous tests and explained what the tests were looking for. Thankfully it ended up being something minor, but I liked her so much I asked if she would become my PCP. I had an annual physical with her since then and she is wonderful. She is very nice while also demonstrating a lot of innate knowledge and understanding. I have worked in healthcare for 30 years and I know a good physician when I encounter one. She is a great doc!

I saw Dr. Minor in Urgent Care at SSMC this past weekend for chest discomfort and symptoms of GERD. During the night I had severe stomach pain that radiated across my back when I rubbed the area. My concern was that it could be a cardiac problem. I’m fortunate that Dr Minor was on duty that day. She was caring, thorough, and knowledgeable, ordering tests and explaining the results to me and my daughter. Fortunately, my heart was okay so she ordered medication for the GERD. (She even attempted to check whether my insurance would pay for the medication - which it did with a very small co-pay.)

My wife was one of Dr Miner’s first patients after she graduated from med school (probably close to twenty years ago). After we got married she convinced me to switch my primary to Dr Miner and it was a great decision. At the time my doctor was horrible. He spent about 20 secs in the exam room with you (if you could even get appointment with him). He also never remembered who you were when you went in for your annual. He wouldn’t even prescribe me medicine for my chronic acid reflux because he said that it could be treated with OTC medicine. My life literally changed for the better when I became one of Dr Miner’s patients. She will sometimes spend up to 30-40 minutes with me, which is why she is always behind. That’s one of her only downfalls, along with being booked solid most of the time. She cares and listens. She’s not just concerned with how you feel physically. She wants to know how you are doing in general. I’ve needed to see her in a pinch and instead of getting an… appointment with an NP, I’ve requested to see her because I trust her. I’ll get that appointment every time. Both of my sons are now her patients so she takes care of the family. She has become an important part of our family and we wouldn’t want anyone else.

Fabulous doc. I agree, at times she has been late BUT because she spends extra time with each of her patients. She's caring and compassionate, I always feel like she's giving you her full attention. Never rushed and always follows up. No complaints from this patient!

I cant speak for Dr Miners skills as an obstetrician (her specialty), but as a primary care doctor she has shown herself to be frighteningly misinformed, she has made multiple errors (from diagnoses to just reading test results) and I would be surprised if she could even spell any non-baby related conditions, let alone know what they are or how to treat them. Perhaps she is a decent obstetrician (she practices at home A LOT) but I would DEFINITELY NOT recommend her to anyone looking for a primary care or family doctor. I don't mean to sound so harsh, but I wish someone had mentioned this to me before I began to see her so I could have chosen a different doctor.
