I met Dr Terry Hensle when my son was only 2 months old. My son was born with Exstrophy of the Bladder. I was devastated, nervous and very afraid for my son’s well being and future. I traveled to New York from Indiana because of research on my son’s rare medical condition. That research led me to Dr John Lattimer who was getting ready to retire. He introduced me to Dr Hensle and told me “that Dr Hensle would take care of my son and that my son would be in good hands”. As devastated as I was, at age 24, having my first born child in such a serious medical condition...Dr Hensle comforted me, gave me hope and promised to take of him. Dr. Hensle made me feel “a trust” in him that never wavered in the 20 years of him taking care of my son. Over the many years and surgeries, Dr Hensle came through for my son in ways that I would never have dreamed possible when he was born. I thank Dr. Hensle with all of my heart!!! Because of Dr. Hensle’s unbelievable dedication to his patients… like my son...my son leads a very normal, HEALTHY life today at age 44. It is because of Dr. Hensle, that my son is a healthy, happily married, father of a beautiful baby boy. That’s everything a parent could ever ask for...but a parent with a child, born with a very serious medical condition, can only dream of. My dream came true because of meeting Dr. Hensle and trusting in him all the way!!! He not only, was a very talented and accomplished Surgeon, but also was very empathetic and caring with my son in every way possible. Over the years, my son grew to love him and respect him like a “father”. He wanted to be just like him...a “doctor”. Today my son is a practicing physician and yes, he said from about age 3 he wanted to be just like Dr. Hensle”. He never wavered all the way from Kindergarten to Medical School. He wanted to wear that “white coat” just like the “PERSON HE ADMIRED MOST IN HIS LIFE”...DR HENSLE! He wears that “white coat” very proudly today and does thank Dr. Hensle for allowing him to lead a “very normal life”...as a very healthy, happy, husband, doctor and MOST IMPORTANTLY...AN EXTREMELY THRILLED FATHER OF AN 8 month old beautiful baby boy!!! Thank you, Dr. Hensle...from my son and myself from the bottom of our hearts. We both love you like family and think about you often. The most important remembrance of you came on May 26th, 2020...the day my son looked into the eyes of his newborn son and really realized everything that...YOU GAVE HIM!!! We will always cherish your relationship with both of us. THANK YOU SO MUCH for making it possible for my son to experience the joy of FATHERHOOD and for me to experience the joy of being a GRANDMOTHER!!! WHAT A BEAUTIFUL GIFT OF LIFE YOU GAVE US...TWICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dr. Hensle has been my son's urologist for 20 years. My son has cerebral palsy. Dr. Hensle performed life changing surgery which allowed him to be independent. He has been an amazing support system to our family. I can't imagine where we would be without him! We are truly grateful.

We met Dr. Hensle when our son was not even 2 months old. He has been in our lives for 8.5 years now, and wouldn’t change a thing. He took the time to explain what was going on, and set expectations for what our son would endure over the coming years. Throughout the process he communicated well, and always showed compassion for us as a family. Following one of my sons surgeries he even gave us his personal cell phone number to call directly if I ever needed him! I would recommend him to anyone who needed a pediatric urologist. He is extremely competent and caring.

I’m a nurse and I hate doctors. Especially surgeons and cardiologists. It’s their attitude. But this guy. LOVE HIM!!! He saved my son multiple times and always did so competently. Expertly. And with empathy. The first time we met him he was highly recommended by my obstetrician who used him on his own son. That’s always a good sign. We were distraught. I couldn’t think clearly during the appointment. Then he said don’t worry. He’ll be fine. This is what I do. And I believed him. And that’s something I usually don’t do. Especially with docs. I have known him professionally through my son almost 12 years. He sees him several times per year for follow up and has had multiple surgeries and procedures. The last one was this month. He’s always on time. You just don’t wait. Which I’ve never ever had happen before. His staff is amazing. Marianne is the best. My son is perfect today. No issues and I believe it’s because of him. I know another doctor whose… son had the same condition and is having problems. She didn’t use Hensle. If you want the best you go to the best. We paid out of pocket for this doctor way back when we didn’t have the money because when I did research he was the best. And if someone is going to cut into my son they better be the best. Like I said I’m not a fan of many docs so take it from this veteran nurse who has worked with surgeons most of her life. You won’t find a better pediatric surgeon out there in his speciality. My family is eternally grateful to him for the life my son can now have.

All I can say is that Dr Hensle Is Simply The Best..Yes he's Cranky Sometimes but his skills are??I know Dr Hensle 18 yrs and all I can say is he's the Dr you want in your child's life.You won't be disappointed ??

Dr. Hensle did not take the time with my son to correctly diagnose him. We were able to get a second opinion and his new Urologist was able to save my son's tesicle after Dr. Hensle told us it was not viable.

BY FAR THE WORST UROLOGIST MY SON HAS EVER SEEN. I'M REGRETTING TAKING MY SON TO HAVE SURGERY WITH HIM. HIS BEDSIDE MANNER STINKS & HE EVEN POKED HIS FINGER IN MY CHEST AFTER ONE OF THE SURGERIES BECAUSE I WAS ASKING HIM TOO MANY QUESTIONS. HE'S ARROGANT! MY SON HAD THE (3) SURGERIES BY DR. HENSLE ABOUT 15 YEARS AGO & IS HAVING NUMEROUS PROBLEMS BECAUSE OF IT.

I have to say that in my opinion dr hensle is by far the best doctor in the world I have been under his care since I was an infant im now 38 years old and let me furthermore say that I am the furthest from an easy to deal with patient as they get, he never let me down he was never un professional and always made sure I knew what was going on whether I understood or not many times he stayed overnight just to see that I was ok even taking time to see that my mother was cared for and safe as she went to eat.i will love him always and trust his judgement we as humans always want for more and the better bigger piece of the pie believe me I am one of those but I too must understand this is not always possible dr hensle did the best with what he could for me he saved my life and taught me not to be afraid to love and to not hold my condition against myself but rather how to live with it.he has always been the doctor I wished lived next door if I had my way I would never leave my health in the… hands of anyone but him I now reside in fla and I hate being so far away from him and further more perish the thought that he must someday retire though I know in his heart he never will kids are his passion and their well being is his concern of the upmost,i was born with a very complex condition I was not easy to handle at all till I was of proper age to understand of course but I will say this he always understood me loved me and cared for me and never put me in harms way as I said sometimes in life we make choices we do not agree with and hospitals are not an easy place for kids or adults alike to be but he always made it easy I can say this cause 45 surgeries later im still by the grace of god and dr hensle's caring hands and knowledge I thank god for him and always will I have so many memories of him and my stays that I think of quite frequently but let me tell you this nothing was ever done and no one ever touched me without him there to ease me and let me know it was ok he never knor would he ever hurt anyone not anyone I owe my health to him and those who have been with me and by my side through all of this im sure im still not done but I know im the best I can be and still alive because of his skills.dr hensel if you read this I miss you I love you and thank you so much for all you did for my mom and I you are my hero,

I remember having an appointment for my son, Dr. Hensle just flew in from China, he was there to see my son & brought him a gift also. Dr. Hensle gave my husband his home phone # in case of an emergency, In l976 Drs. told my husband & I to take him home to die. He's now 37 & if it wasn't for his care & love from Dr. Hensle I wouldn't have this wonderful man, my son. After all these years I still tell everyone about my experiences with Dr, Hensle. He was a God Send to my son, myself & family,
