Was unwilling to even listen to thoughts about my injury it was like pull me in an push me out anyone else in that office is great so so glad he's retiring soon

I have been seeing Dr Shepard for 4 years now. He answers all questions I may have honestly and is an excellent doctor.

I was diagnosed with bladder cancer. Dr. Shepherd is to the point. He doesn't sugarcoat things and for that reason he may offend some patients since he doesn't have the bedside manners that we often crave when we are ill. However, I have been a patient of his for well over a decade. He operated on me and removed the tumor, then told me that I needed to continue to get checkups and closely monitor this. In fact, the cancer came back and he removed it again. I have continued to get checkups from him, even after I moved out of state. He absolutely knows his stuff and I would not place my health in another's hands. It has now been about 20 years since I had the bladder cancer and I have trusted Dr. Shepherd with my condition. He is highly skilled and knowledgeable.

I believe that every patient, regardless of their age, deserves respect and at least a modicum of concern about their condition. This doctor tossed off comments like he was discussing the weather, expressing a complete lack of empathy and care. I would never, ever recommend this guy to ANYONE. Find another urologist. STAT.

Had apt for 845a was not seen by my until 1000am and left me in room after finally seen me for 30 min. Finally nurse checked in room and said wait one minute then came right back and said was good to go Knoxville Office Would call to schedule me appt for procedure

Excellent service and care for acut onset of kidney stone.

One of the rudest individuals I ever had to pay! Asked for my input, then cut me off: He "knew what I was there for". After a lightning quick exam, he was gone without a word. I was handed off to his staff and never saw or heard from him again. Staff was pretty nice.

Dr. Shepherd knows his stuff. The first time I saw him I thought his bedside manners were lacking, but over time and with a couple of surgeries his expertise was obvious. I highly recommend him. You might find him busy and be disappointed with is bedside manners or the time he spends once he has discussed his findings. However, if you want someone who is a complete expert and knows what he is doing, then this is the Doc.

This physician came into the exam room and spent NO MORE than 5-10mins with me, he wasn't even in there long enough to get comfortable in his chair. He asked a few "yes & no" questions never giving me a change to even answer in detail. He said he cant do anything till I have a test done then walked out the room. I sat in the exam room not really knowing what was going on or if that was the end of the appointment, apparently it was. Needless to say there are enough urologist in the area so I will not be back to see him nor would I suggest or refer anyone to him.
