Dr. Truitt is a no frills to the point Dr. and has been very effective for me.

Incredibly rude female office staf

the initial appointment was set without much of a problem. upon arriving the staff was a bit snappy! but at that point i just wanted a doctors help. Dr Truitt was the most cold and unconcerned doctor i have ever met in my 57 years! I lost my thyroid in 1997. This is the last doctor I would ever see, even if she was the only one on earth! She did not examine me and sat sideways looking away from me, and behaved like ZsaZsa Gabor with her high blonde hair and her manicured nails! I cried all the way home!

The guy at the front desk is a jack wagon who treats people as if he is above them. he is veeeerrrrry condescending and that is being very lenient on him. he has been cordial at times but if you want to see what im talking about ask him a couple of questions, or if you really want to see how sharp the talons are be late for an appointmnt, I showed up at the time they told me to which was two hours late (again i called two days before this and they told me the wrong time) . i walked in and he said "can i help you" i said yes im here for my appointment and i stated the time, he said "NO YOUR "APPOINTMENT" (SAID IT ALL SNARKY) WAS TWO HOURS AGO AND NOW YOU OWN ME $30!!! " I SAID "OKAY??? SHOULD I HAVE A SEAT???"... He said "UG OHHH NO!!! YOURE NOT GOING TO BE SEEN TODAY!!! YOU HAVE TO MAKE ANOTHER APPOINTMENT WHICH YOU CANNOT DO TODAY BECAUSE THE NOTICE HAS ALREADY BEEN MAILED AND UNTIL WE GET THE $30 I CANNOT RESCHEDULE YOUR APPOINTMENT!!!" Dr. Truitt is nice but not nice enough to have… to put up with her staff... i take that back the lady in the back with the shorter hair is very helpful... the rest of them should feel the wrath that terrible customer service will bring upon themselves. i would suggest driving a half hour to Danville.

I was referred to Dr.Otero by my local doctor for a thyroid issue I have been having for years. Finally, I thought, I was going to get help for this problem. Little did I know that I was about to face an even bigger problem and fight another battle by the very people who were suppose to help me. First of all getting the appointment in the first place took some time that consisted of a lot of back and forth calls from my local doctor to Dr.Otero, and then from my doctor to me (because Otero's office wouldn't initially make an appointment), from me to Dr.Otero, from Dr.Otero to me etc. When I was finally able to land a date and time, I was given the wrong address to Otero's office. After showing up to the address given and spending an hour looking for the location I was told and asking four different people for direction, my husband and I realized that we were not only at the wrong address we were in the wrong city! After calling the Dr.'s office I asked the lady who had… scheduled me if the fee could be waved for missing the appointment since I was there at the address that I was given, ready for the appointment I was given. Not only did she refuse to help me she passed me off to the office manager who was not willing to listen to anything I had to say from the beginning of our 'conversation'. All he seemed to want to do was laugh at me, even going so low as making fun of the city I live in, a city I love. I hung up the phone shaken and upset and wondering how a "professional" could treat not only a patient but another human being the way he did. The lack of patient care by everyone at this office is astonishing. Not only did my husband and I spend an hour running around on a wild goose chase, talking to numerous people for directions to a place that was non existent in this city simply because of a mistake made. I was blamed for that mistake, laughed at and charged. If this is the kind of service given by Otero herself, well, frankly I am glad I didn't step foot in that building. It is off to Duke for me and I am more then happy to drive the extra hour each way to get there because I know I will be treated the way we all deserve to be treated, with respect! I recommend you all do the same.
