Dr. Thanh-Danae Nghiem Vu, MD

Was referred here by my GP during my first pregnancy. Dr. Vu seemed very nice but came off as very wishy-washy and not wanting to say anything to upset or concern me. Well, this is my life and my baby's life and if something is wrong, then I want to know in no uncertain terms. The real horror I endured was after my miscarriage when she refused to discuss any possible causes, becoming defensive when I asked whether my prior medical condition could be a factor. I was not accusing her, only asking questions and yet she became defensive claiming she handled cases like mine everyday and was perfectly capable. After this I asked for a referral to a high-risk OB thinking I would get, you know, a name and maybe a phone number. She called back and named the 3 biggest hospitals in the area. Well thanks, I think I could've figured that out on my own. This woman is an uncaring egomaniac and I am sorry I ever went to see her.

I have trusted Dr. Vu with both of my pregnancies, even my emergency c-section due to Placenta Previa. I can call and talk to her when I need, and she is the friendliest, most sincere person I know. Her efficiency leaves nothing to be desired and the comfort level I have with here I only have with my husband. She is someone I put my full trust in.

Dr. Vu is very sweet, funny and a good doctor but maybe not the most well organized doctor on earth. Unfortunately, working obstetrics, being a bit wishy-washy can make pregnant patients very uneasy. In this pregnancy, there have been a few of those occasions. For example, at my 24 week appt she told me I needed a blood draw and that the nurse would be in to take care of that in a few minutes, then left the room. Not 2 minutes later she came back in wondering why we were still there. Even when I told her I thought she said to hang around for a blood draw she didnt remember telling us that and said we were free to go. So we did cause honestly I wasnt excited about it to begin with lol. Next appointment she told us she forgot to have me do a blood draw...Ive never had a problem with time, if I have questions shes always there to answer them and even sticks around to chat about non-medically related stuff which is nice. Ive never felt like she needed to rush off to another patient.So Im… not incredibly confident in her ability to focus, and thats pretty much it, but fortunately for her patients she has a LOVELY nurse, Sue, who does a wonderful job of micromanaging, and a very friendly and understanding office staff!

Doctor is WAY too overbooked. Had a list of questions I wanted to address at my appointment only to find out she didnt have time to listen to any of them. VERY disappointed. this has happened a couple weeks in a row.
