Dr. Thanh-Truc Thanh Lieng, MD

So, I went to there for my one year physical and get my all tests done. After a week, I recieved my lab report and there was missing HbA1c. When I spoke with Dr. lieng, she said that my fasting glucose was in normal range and it didn’t triggered enough to do my HbA1c. As a part of medical proffesion, I explained her that it’s nit for your sarisfaction but for my sarisfaction I wanted to know my HbA1c. I should know my normal sugar level at least in a year. And guess what! My HbA1c is 6.1 and I’m in a range of prediabetic when I’ve done my this test at my OBgyn office a few days later. This is totally unexpacted. She should not take dicision based on her instinct or whatever.

Another reviewer said it perfectly. Dr Lieng just doesn’t care. The first appt I had with her was when I sick. I felt she was rude and didn’t want to take the time to listen to me. But, we all have bad days so I went back Dr. Lieng for my annual wellness checkup. Doctors usually set aside more time for these visits. (At least that is what I thought) Again she was rude and well let me say her ‘bedside manner’ was ‘this patient is wasting my time.’ Sorry Dr. Lieng no more chances for you. BTW: my bloodwork was done 2 weeks ago. Can you please read the results and post them I’d like to know if everything is ok. Thank you,

Don't waste your time or health on this very rude PCP. She does not listen and will not help you with your health. Will not refill your Rx's and has very limited knowledge.

Dr. Lieng is outstanding. She is very caring and knowledgeable. She was quick to diagnose my condition and treat me. I am pain free now thanks to her help. I would recommend her very highly.

I went to her as my first adult PCP and she is terrible. There were multiple reasons I went during my time with her as my pcp and every time she pretty much made me feel like it was all in my head, even things that doctors before her actually diagnosed me with. I have arthritis in my back from and injury and she thought it was anxiety. She believed that I was crazy and never seemed like she cared or had time for me. It’s actually quite sad that this women has been practicing for 10 years and this is how she treats her patients. I would not recommend her unless you want to be judged or not taken seriously.

Dr. Lieng wasted my time and money after I sent my son for his first adult visit (newly 18) to her. I asked before the visit if this doctor would be able to facilitate his ADHD medications that he has been prescribed for years. The office staff said this would be facilitated. Unfortunately, Dr. Lieng was not willing to continue to see him since he will not be attending school in the local area. This information was not given to me as the parent, paying the bill and with the insurance, since he's technically an adult. Dr. Lieng instead sent him for hundreds of dollars worth of drug screening to fill one "bridge" prescription of his ADHD meds and ordered him to find someone at school, again this information was never relayed. She refused to refill his prescription when he was home on break from school stating if he didn't take it every day, he doesn't need it, leaving him without his medication. She should have never agreed to see him as a patient and should have contacted us before… his one and only visit to explain that she does not believe in meds for ADHD, has no understanding of the condition and will not treat it. I would not recommend this doctor! I wish I would have seen the other comment a previous patient left regarding ADHD meds before we experienced the same poor medical care!!!

I recently had new insurance so had some natural anxiety in switching over my prescriptions from my current physician at Bon Secours (I take vyvanse for ADHD -- a very controlled substance with many hoops to get each prescription, which I am plenty happy to jump through). I waited a while to get the initial appointment as I am a new patient, and took time off work to attend. When I arrived, filled out all the paper work, had brought all of my paper documents and testing -- done everything right -- she told me she actually wasn't accepting any patients with ADHD because she "didn't have time." She could see me as a "general patient" but not to treat my ADHD. What is the point of having a doctor who won't treat the conditions you are already diagnosed with? She was incredibly rude and condescending about my situation and made it seem like my fault or as if I was faking my diagnosed condition to get medication. I left feeling embarrassed and ashamed about my ADHD. I left the facility and… cried in my car.... then went and just paid out-of-pocket price for my old doctor (now not covered by my insurance). I would NEVER recommend seeing Doctor Lieng if she treats patients this way. The insurance and medical system is tough right now - I understand that and would understand if there was some bizarre bureaucracy that made a mistake. But I just don't know how a doctor could justify leaving someone feel so awful about themselves for trying to navigate the system.

Switched insurances and was looking forward to having my first visit with a doctor I could trust as well as help me to get back on track with my health after putting it on the back burner after having a baby. Without any empathy questioned why I was taking the medication I was currently prescribed and she then asked “well what kind of work do you do that requires you to take this”.... and in her “opinion” with the matter of just a few seconds she was able to tell me that I didn’t need to. Her demeanor is very judgmental and certainly not personable for being a doctor. She didn’t even say bye when she walked out and then had the nurse (who was outstanding) highlight resources and one of those highlights was “Virginia center for addiction medicine”.
