Dr. Thea Cross, MD

Dr. Cross listens to what you have to say and will always tell you the truth. In the waiting room, I've heard malingers whine because she asked them to see a psychiatrist to help them. I have watched thumb pushers who will not stop playing with their cell phones. They annoy the heck out of me. I am a 69 year old woman and do not own a phone and do not want one. I have heard patients, old and young complain when they leave because Dr. Cross has asked them to please turn them off. They have signs in the waiting room that ask patients to turn off their phones. Apparently they never look at the signs. Lord knows, I hope they don't follow to the new offices. St. Mary's is closing. Dr. Cross is now at Fort Sanders. Why do they have psychiatrist on this page. She is a neurologist. Saved my poor sorry soul twice now. Maybe it goes along with being a neurologist but I don't think she does that. Anyway, from a old woman, She is fine. Mighty fine. I'm done now. I can tell my grand-daughter she… can stop typing this for me and get off that computer. Thank You

Here is my experience today: I never got to see Dr. Thea Cross so I can't evaluate her medical skill. However, either her management skill is very bad or her staff is not up to the simple job of scheduling, after the appointment was scheduled 6 months ago, I was texted yesterday to be reminded that my appointment is today, I took an early leave from work, drove an hour to get to her office. After less than 30 seconds at the front desk of Dr. Cross's office, I was told that Dr. Cross no longer took new patient and my appointment was cancelled by a sullen faced staff of hers. And the staff stared at me saying "we left a voice mail in your answering machine". I stood there, can't believe my ears and asked: "what should I do now?" The staff aloofly said "sorry, you will need to reschedule." Now, my question is "why did it take 6 months to let a patient know Dr. Cross's service is not available???" And if it were not available, why did you send a text message asking me to keep my… appointment???" And if you really care about your patient, why did you only remember to call the night before and leave a message you are not sure if the patient could get it??? What kind of medical services this Dr. Cross is providing? I drove back apparently with my blood pressure high and my other medical needs not being cared. Another appointment of 6 months waiting? I should have taken the online reviews about Dr. Cross seriously. Hope my bad experience gives you a warning - call before you go to see Dr. Cross!!! She and her staff really don't care if your time is precious or your medical condition is a matter to them.

A chronic seizure patien, I was prescribed Keppra and Lorazepam for several years by Dr Cross.. Without warning or notification, my medications changed which left me having numerous seizures only to be found in my bedroom floor by a friend. I tried to contact Dr Cross just believing it was an oversight(because my Lorazepam had not been called in). I then received a letter saying Dr Cross would no longer see me as a patient because I was rude calling the front desk. I probably was short. However, I never cursed or got out of line in any fashion. Dr Cross leftme prescribed with 5 Lorazepam and NO Neurologist..I ended up at UT hospital.

My husband is a patient of Dr. Cross and has been for a little over a year now. My husband has MS and about four months ago started the botox injection for his severe MS related migrains. I was skeptical at first about this form of treatment but after many, many days of research, I felt confident that the botox would give him some relieve after already trying pills, injections, physical therapy, heat and ice therapy etc. This was the first time I actually met Dr. Cross and I was not impressed at all. She immediately started injecting my husbands head with the botox and actually YELLED at him to be still. He informed her that it was very painful and her reply was "I know it is, that's why I go fast so my patients don't chicken out on me". After the injections, she informed us that we needed to make another appointment in three months, so we did. When we arrived to his appointment just last week, we were told that they hadn't ordered the botox medicine and then LIED to us and told us… that they had called on Monday and left several voice messages. I informed the rude girl up front that there was no way she called and left messages on the number she said she did because that number has not been working for 6 months. I then asked why his medicine was not there after they had 3 MONTHS TO ORDER IT. I was told pretty much that crap happens and that its not their responsibility to keep track of every patient because Dr. Cross has hundreds of them. I will be reporting Dr. Cross and her entire staff to the BBB and whomever I can to see to it that she lose her medical license. She is rude, hateful, uncaring and her staff is worse. She wouldn't even see my husband personally and try to explain what hapeened, why his medicine was not there.

The best word I can use to describe Dr. Thea Crossâ?? office Tennova Neurosciences, is reprehensible. I waited for 6 months after my referral from my PCM to find out if I even had an appointment because nobody from Tennova Neurosciences called to schedule the appointment with me. They simply set a date that was good for them and kept it to themselves. I only found out when I got an automated message reminding me of my appointment. When I brought this to their attention they insisted it was not their job to let me know I had an appointment. My visit with Dr. Cross wasnâ??t terrible, but at the same time was not great either. Since I have been living with Multiple Sclerosis for the past 10 years I have seen quite a few neurologists, I expected her to ask more questions and really try to get to know my history of MS. This did not happen. The absolute worst part of her office is her staff. They are completely unprofessional and incompetent. Their phone etiquette and general… attitude toward patients is careless and hasty. If you call with a request or issue they hurry you off the phone, put you on hold because they are never sure what to do, or put another incompetent person on the phone. This leads to miscommunication of information and massive mistakes which in the healthcare industry they cannot afford. The last straw was a phone conversation where the girl on the phone informed me quite rudely that â??Dr. Cross was very busy with a large patient load and did not have the time to deal with my last minute requestâ??. Which angered me severely because it was not a â??last minute requestâ?? it was supposed to have been taken care of the day before. Also, if their patient load is so large that they compromise patient care then they certainly do not need my money. I will not be returning to this office and I urge everyone else to avoid Tennova Neurosciences at any cost. I also want to remind everyone that these Doctors work for you, if the Doctor or their staff acts in a manner such as this, like any other employee they deserve to be fired.

I went to see Dr. Cross for help with migraines and Thoracic outlet syndrome, which I had already had surgery for, but my surgeon wanted it to be managed by a neuro. She acted like she didn't even know what TOS was, never even touched me or examined me, and just increased medications for my migraines. I am an RN and feel as if I could have done a better job at taking care of this. I've worked with many doctors and Dr. Cross did NOT impress me at all. I will not be going back to this office.

Spent maybe five minutes with me. Didn't listen to what I was saying. She didn't even examine me. Very unprofessional.

Dr. Cross is the best doctor I have ever seen, hands down!

She is a great an very knowleable neurologist.

Dr. Cross helped me with my mother with Alzheimer's. She takes extra time to listen to our needs, and IS available after hours and when not in the office. She has always called us back, even when she was in Myrtle Beach this summer.
