Dr. Thelma Denise Cunningham, MD

Dr Cunningham is the best OB/GYN professional I have met. Her qualifications are impressive and her knowledge of medicine is exceptional. I have recommended her to my friends and they all agree with me that she is excellent, and the staff at the Sherwood Hall office are very friendly and professional.

The Phy & Midwives office can get very busy, delaying appointment times. Try for an appointment early in the day - a good rule of thumb for any doctor's office.Dr. Cunningham was able to diagnose a condition that 2 previous GYNs disregarded when I mentioned symptoms. She provided a treatment option and when that yielded minimal results, she recommended 2 specialists for the condition. I would prefer that anyday than be attended by someone insisting it was all "in my head."

Even though I thought Dr. Cunningham was knowledgeable, she was not friendly and I felt a bit uncomfortable. Doctors are special and important people in the lives of patients and if you are going to trust someone with your health, you need to feel some measure of security. Frankly, I felt as though they (the office) had very little experience dealing with patients of diverse ethnicity. The doctor was cold and very unfriendly. Frankly, I felt as though she only treated me because of the physician's code. Not sure if I would use them again.
