I had a great experience with Dr Protopsaltis. Even though he is a surgeon, he told me I did not need surgery, at least not yet and to return if anything changed. I did return about a year later when things had changed. He told me I now needed surgery. Hos bedside manner is terrific and inspires confidence in what he says. He does not talk down to you and does not have the “I am the doctor” attitude. Also, his team is terrific and responsive. I never had to ask a question twice because it was not answered when first asked. My surgery went very smoothly and I was back on my feet ahead of schedule with no residuals. Thanks Dr, Protopsaltis

I had lower back surgery and this doctor specifically specialized in a newer technique such as MIS - Minimally invasive surgery. As a result I had an incredible speedy recovery. He’s a gifted surgeon. I’d give him ten stars if I could.

I had to have a second neck surgery, specifically a disk replacement after an old fusion. This doctor is the nicest and most patient, answering all questions in detail and being available for follow up. Even more importantly he showed remarkable caring in the hospital before and after the surgery and I had results much better than expected with fewer and shorter difficulties or complications post-op. As a physician myself I would recommend him to any friend or family member without hesitation. I believe he is exceptional among his peers.

Dr. Protopsaltis is an excellent physician. He is extremely knowledgeable, very intelligent, presents things in ways that are easy to understand and truly involves the patient. He has taken care of several family members and we have all been impressed. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM!

Waited for the doctor for over hour and a half In the office. What’s the appointments for then? Made me miss work, also got a ticket on my car out side....

I having two cervical spine procedures can not thank or repay Dr. Protopsaltis. I am a 65 year old building contractor who has worked hard and played hard . If you can get Dr. as your Doctor , go to church be thankful. Yes i waited too long to reach out to him and my c6and c7 fused themselves creating pain issues , difficult to reverse. With my two procedures , I can now sleep for 6 to 8 hours straight without awaking pain every 1 to 2 hours.; My health is better, my out look is better, I just wish my strength and stamina would keep up with my 19 year old brain. Medical amazement's are out there , with the modern tools available but it takes a skilled operator to realize and perform what is possible and some times what is not. I wish you all the success that I have experienced and your in the best earthly hands. God doesn't perform surgery!

Dr. Protopsaltis, Maryann and the rest of the staff are amazing. Very few drs. wanted to take my case after two botched surgeries by prominent NYC surgeons. I was in pain 24/7 for three years. Dr. P did a L4-S1 revision, visited me every day and has been very involved in post. op. questions. He is compassionate and a perfectionist and my stay at NYU was like being at a hotel. And I'm free and looking forward to warm weather

Had L4/L5 spins surgery to decompress and insert a Coflex Device to maintain vertebrae separation while preserving separation. 13 days later very satisfied, low remaining pain. Could not be more satisfied.

Dr. Protopsaltis, is the person who has given me , my life back. I wish to write these thoughts about my surgeon, who operated on my back twice. The second tine to correct a mistake no on his part. One of my titanium roads broke he tried to correct it, but we both decided it would be best to correct thus with another procedure. Everyone who has seen me before, are just stunned by the way I look and my posture. I had scoliosis which was a complete "S"in my back. This i had lived with for many of my adult years. From the first time when we him, after five previous doctors, there is a feeling of true warmth from his eyes of understanding the direction you wish to go. There is no need for you to fear, your outcome, you can only feel better with his skill. He will also give you a couple of options to think over, but will explained them all multiple times and in a way, that a patient would fully understand. You will also not feel that you are a number, but someone who can help.… With that, you could leave his office, with a total smile on your face. From my feelings, this doctor's hands are of made of gold!
