Dr. Theodore Joonil Koh, MD

I've been going to Dr. Koh for over 20 years and have extremely satisfied. He always answers my questions patiently and is very informative.

over an hour wait in waiting room then almost another hour wait in examine room. When Dr. Koh arrived he never said hello, very unfriendly. Rushed through the examine with no diagnosis or suggestions as to a resolve to the problem. Would not recommend this doctor to my worst enemy.

I had undiagnosed hyperthyroidism that first manifested as nausea and digestive issues. He was only willing to follow his own checklist, making me try a bunch of treatments and tests that I was pretty confident were not the problem. BUT, he's the doctor and I'm not so I submitted to months of trying various medications and tests. I threw in the towel when he did an endoscopy. I explained that I do not respond normally to the particular method they use to sedate for the procedure. Nobody listened. So, I got to be fully awake and aware for the procedure. They had told me to relax, so I did. I was meditating my way through thinking, "This is not right." Once the throat numbing spray wore off, I started gagging and opened my eyes. The whole room was shocked. Maybe they've since learned to listen to the patient?

Dr. Koh is very efficient, and thorough. He can appear a little reserved at times, but when I have questions for him he always addresses my concerns and he is willing to discuss until I believe my questions are answered.Medically, would not go to another gastro-enterologist in Syracuse.

Would never recommend Dr Koh to anyone. Didn't spend enough time with me so I could talk about test results or ask questions. He got up from his desk to leave after 15 minutes, very little time for me, no compassion and rude office staff. will never go back.

When I first visited Dr. Koh's office I was turned off by the dirty Community General Hospital location but I followed through with my appointment. From day one Dr. Koh kept confusing my medical records and he even told me once I had a disease that I was never even being seen for! When I told him he had me confused with someone else he got irritated with me. He first diagnosed me with Chrons disease which seemed to match my symptoms and he started me on a certain medication that did nothing for me. When I returned for a follow-up he told me I was mistaken and did not have Chrons! I cannot believe I trusted my health in his hands - I will never return!

Dr Koh always seemed to be in a rush with me. My test results were inconclusive and he told me I was " "inventing things". I am left without suggestions for further treatment options and referrals for other doctors who might help me with my condition.

Wonderful to have an appointment and actually get in to see the doctor at that time! Dr. Koh is friendly and patient and obviously intelligent. I recommend him without reservation.

Wonderful doctor. Very caring and really listens to you. Never have to wait in the office for more than a minute. Dr Koh always greets you and takes you back to the office himself. He is very professional. Staff is also friendly and professional.
