Dr. Theodore Tillman Miller, MD

While Dr. Miller successfully injected my daughter's hip, he had a horrible bedside manner. He should not be dealing with children, especially those who suffer from anxiety. Due to unfortunate accidents, my daughter has developed a fear of needles and hospital procedures. We've worked very hard to get her to accept these and she's done very well. She cried (silently) before Dr. Miller began the injection and then began to breathe a bit more quickly and finally said "I feel nauseous. I don't want to do this anymore" before he began. She was NOT screaming. She was NOT moving. She was scared and crying. Dr. Miller told her to "grow it up." He also told her he had "two other patients in the waiting room. [Did she] want to make him late?" When he finished the injection, Dr. Miller asked my daughter to stand and told her to stop her tears or she would "scare his other patients about a simple procedure." He followed us out of the room, where a kind nurse gave her a tissue. Dr. Miller… then said, "maybe you should just take the whole box." He made fun of her tears and her anxiety. She is a CHILD. If your child needs an injection, choose ANYONE other than him. HSS is filled with wonderful, well-qualified, sympathetic doctors, nurses, and radiologists. This man is not one of them.
