Dr. Theodore James Spinks, MD

I brought my mother-in-law to see Dr. Spinks. She has had worsening back pain for some time. A round of spinal injections had not been helpful. Surgery was suggested at one point. Dr. Spinks took the time to review the MRI, explain the anatomical causes of her pain in a way she understood. He reviewed reasons why surgery may not be helpful, the reasons other than lumbar stenosis that were causing her pain, such as arthritis, that lumbar surgery may not help. Facet injections were discussed in more detail. Dr. Spinks took additional time to review and teach, not just about the surgery he could do, but about my mother-in-lawâ??s pain and a comprehensive approach to the issue. I would strongly recommend Dr. Spinks to anyone struggling with back pain and looking not just for repair but for a comprehensive approach to management. My mother-in-law may still get surgery, but we are pursuing all options as part of workup, and feel secure that the approach is ideal.

I heard about Dr. Spinks from my neighbor. She was a patient of his previously and was very pleased. I visited Dr. Spinks for pain down my arm and numbness in my hands. I had a cervical artificial disk put in about 3 months ago. I am able to hold my coffee cup again! So happy I had surgery with Dr. Spinks! My zapping pains are gone and I have almost no scar already. I love his staff too.

Dr. Spinks Carefully explained the details and options to me in a way I could easily understand. No doctor has ever taken the time to do that before.

Dr. Spinks has been great! After a year with another "spine specialist" he discovered problems were in my neck and confirmed after MRI. Spent time with us and very thorough. Staff much better than most, but delays/difficulty in handling insurance.
