Dr. Theodore Scott Woll, MD

Dr Woll preformed a bunionectomy with confidence, assuring me this was routine and he had previously preformed this surgery on another woman that was running marathons within 6 months. I knew that was a quick recovery but gave me hope that I would be back running after a year. I sit here a year later(1st surgery date Sept 2021), with my second two overlapping my third toe(not how it was when I went in) and two surgeries later, and I will never be able to run again. My big toe does not bend to even fit into some shoes and even worse, I have a limp. I did physical therapy for 3 months and pt said it was the worst recovery she had seen. The second surgery to fix the second toe(again not out of alignment when I went in) from over lapping my third toe was ineffective. I have little to no movement in my 2nd toe and it doesn’t even appear to be connected to my foot, it sticks up and over my third toe. It causes me pain even when I sleep, cramping up and achy. I am a very active woman and… these two surgeries from Dr Woll have ruined my quality of life. I will be getting a second opinion.

Dr Woll is an extremly experienced surgeon who is respected in the community and takes time to listen to your questions. He has done several surgeries on my foot. My only issue is that he and his staff do not give you much details that I think would have been important prior to surgery (transparency). Examples: long range healing, expected outcomes, possible negative reprocussions after surgery or what supplies to have at home post-surgery. I visited him at least 4 times prior to surgery to ask questions. One cannot know what always to ask. It would have been helpful if he had volunteered more information on negative effects of the type of surgery I had. Otherwise, he did a careful and complete surgery and paid attention post surgery to xrays and examinations. I would recommend to him that he and his staff pay more attention to providing more details on "outcomes" before a pateint makes that BIG DECISION to go under the knife.

I saw Dr Woll for issues with my ankle from a car accident 28 yrs ago. Last time I saw him was 15 yrs ago. I live 2.5 hrs away and wouldn't think of seeing any foot and ankle specialist closer to home. Dr Woll is such a knowledgeable Dr and treats his patients like he would his family. I will recommend him to anyone I know with foot and ankle issues. Thank you Dr Woll for being such an amazing Doctor and caring so much about your patients. Jamie D.

The staff was very friendly and welcoming from the time I walked in. Also, they called me in right at the time of my appt. Most places I’ve gone to, I have to wait at least half hour or more. Dr. Woll was extremely knowledgeable and caring. Highly recommend him.

I was recommended to Dr. Woll by a friend and former patient who highly regarded him as a very skilled and experienced surgeon and I do as well. My condition (heel spur) was explained to me along with the surgery and recovery . I had excellent care from the hospital nursing staff as well. Hope he can do my other foot when needed.

I contacted Dr. Woll several years ago for advice on two painful bone spurs on the top of my left foot and a bunion on my left foot. He explained the type of surgical treatment but suggested that I wait to see it is was going to progress. It did and now that I have had the surgery I understand why. The recovery time for this type of surgery is 3 months and not easy. He did an excellent job on the foot. In a cast for 4 weeks, a boot for 3 weeks and then started PT. Started riding my bike in 8 weeks. The surgery is complicated but my healing had gone well. The biggest problem is getting the muscles, tendons, and nerves working again. The PT is important and just moving your body. I highly recommend Dr. Woll.
