Dr. Theodoros Kapetanakis, MD

Dr. Theo is a life changing doctor. I had unknowingly dealt with endo for at least 10 years (based on symptoms) and after going to back to back doctor appointments, gyno visits, blood work etc. I was recommended to see him as an endo specialist. Within 20 minutesc he listened to me, empathized, and believed me. He made me feel seen and heard and finally provided a glimmer of hope after so many years feeling alien to my body. He got me on schedule for surgery and was the most patient, incredible, and thorough surgeon and doctor. My life has improved dramatically after my endo removal and I owe him my happy days finally being pain free and free of that misunderstood and offer overlooked illness. I hope more patients voice their praise and give him his flowers. He truly deserves it all.

Dr. Theo was scheduled to perform an external cephalic version (ECV) to externally flip my baby's position from breech to head-down. My OB and multiple other OBs walked me through what the steps of a version should be before the procedure so that I would know what to expect. The first step is to disengage baby from the pelvis according to the three other OBs I spoke to. Dr. Theo began the procedure and put a lot of pressure on my abdomen (which is to be expected) and that was fine. The first attempt didn't work, which is also sort of expected. The procedure only works 50% of the time. For the second attempt, one of the nurses called in a different OB to try. This OB asked Dr. Theo if he had disengaged baby from my pelvis. He said "no". Dr. Theo put an insane amount of pressure on my abdomen and on my baby for multiple minutes without doing the *first* step of an ECV. The step that all the OB/GYNs I spoke to said was literally the first step of this procedure. The second OB was able to… flip my baby in 30 seconds and with a quarter of the pressure and baby stayed head down for the rest of my pregnancy I really cannot recommend Dr. Theo and would advise seeking care elsewhere
