I had surgery by Dr. Bass and I found his wife who acts as his nurse, who is a Doctor herself, was the most heartless uncaring person to be in this position. In fact, I refused to go there anymore and pay for her to berate me. I was doing great with my weight loss journey and was so shamed by her and her loud mouth belittling that I stopped going for aftercare. I have since found another doctor to take on my care and I have to have the surgery redone. He told me he removed a hiatal hernia and he did not. I have to have it removed soon. I would never recommend these two evil people to operate on anyone. Being a doctor should come with some kind of compassion and care. These people don't have an ounce of it.

I recently had a consultation with Dr. Bass for injuries suffered in an auto accident and was told by him that at 'my age and weight', he *could* but *wouldn't* operate on me, as it was 'a waste of his time'. His advice was to 'Come back and see him after I lost 100 lbs'. I stated that I was told I needed surgery by my referring physician, as the hernia could become strangulated, which would create a very serious and life threatening situation. Dr. Bass answer was 'You just go to the Emergency Room and they will have to operate if that happens." He is more interested in Fat Shaming a potential patient than caring for and addressing the immediate needs of that patient. He is distant, cold, clinical and his bedside manner is needless to say lacking. I could not in good conscience recommend him to anybody. He's a jerk.

We had the good fortune to have had Dr. Bass available when my wife needed gallbladder surgery. He was a pleasure to deal with and informative. We are very grateful to him for the excellent job provided on Easter Sunday.

We had an unfortunate occurance as my wife needed gallbladder surgery after a serious infection. We were very fortunate to have Dr. Bass as a surgeon, he operated on my wife on Easter and did an outstanding job. We very happy to highly recommend his services that were provided at physicians regional in Collier. Everyone at the medical center was so helpful and courteous. Dr Bass and the staff are weell deserving of Kudos!!

When dealing with obese people it would be nice if a doctor had a bit of a caring side. As others have stated, Dr. Bass is cold, in too much of a hurry, over relies on his staff, has rude comments if you don't lose for a month...I'm just very unhappy with my lap bad aftercare. Had I known he was like this I would have gone elsewhere for such a serious surgery.

I did have to wait a few months for the appointment but it was well worth the wait. I was instructed what I needed to do to prepare and I followed the instructions to the letter. Three months later I had all my medical clearances and the surgery date was set. The transision was so smooth with the help of dr bass and all his helpful staff. I am 10 months post op and there have been no negatives at all. I could not be better and after have so many medical prolems. I am off my 5 shots of insulin. No more blood pressures and my ability to live a normal life gets better with every passing day. Dr bass and his staff made me the healthy person I am today abd this is only the beginning. I was 399 pounds when I began 10 short months ago and today the scale said 266 and I have not stpped smiling yet. This is only the beginning and it only gets better with every pound that melts. Take it from someone who has struggles their entire life. Be commetted.lusten to dr bass and always remember… that nothing tastes as good as being healthy feels. Just make ul your mind to take control without dedication you will not succeed. I know what I have to di and its an incrediable feeling inside and out. Good luck to anyone who has decides to have the surgery. Your not alone. You have dr bass and hus staff there for you always. Come to a support group and hear and see results and you will know that being heakthy is within you reach. I am living proof. I love them all more than words can express. Stay tuned for me meeting my goal weight with the next 16 months.

Dr. Bass is a good doctor however he acts like he just simply doesn't have time for his patients when he's with them one on one. He makes you feel like he would rather be someplace else and acts like he doesnt have time to make sure you understand the procedures you've just went through or are about to go through.I went to him for gastric bypass and over a six month perior prior to the actual surgery I saw him a total of 3 times for no more than 10 minutes each visit. During the actual day of the surgery I saw him for 5 minutes prior to entering the operating room and once the surgery was finished and prior to leaving he hospital I saw him two more times for a total of 5 minutes.Dr. Bass relies on his staff a little too much and needs to dedicate a little more time to his patients on a more personal basis. While I am satisfied with my surgery I wouldn't recommend anyone to him.

Excellent surgeon but bedside manner is lousy - seems almost indifferent.
