Dr. Thomas Norton Bernard JR., MD

Dr Bernard is an excellent, kind, caring, and insightful doctor. He has cared for me for many years and has helped me greatly through my spine problems. I couldn't be more appreciative of his care and concern. There are not many doctors that take the time that he does to help his patients.

Dr. Bernard is very considerate, he listens to everything you have to say and offers his best professional opinion. I wish we had more doctors like Dr. Bernard.

Dr. Bernard was a nice man but a poor doctor. When i saw him he always rushed me away instead of listening to my symptoms. I was injured at work and 5 months after the injury i was referred to see him. He never ran any test to identify the problem of my pain. He sent me to physical therapy to pacify me. though the therapy helped it was not a long term solution. After therapy he order a FCE test for me required me to lift heavy weights despite my Physical Therapist's recommendation to lift no more than 10 weights until i was capable of more. Although I know i should have I did and it resulted in me re-injuring myself and am no basically back to were I began. He cleared me for work again knowing but amended the test saying I should not lift heavy weights again. This to me is a contradiction. Also he told me that I probably separated a muscle from my bone in the initial injury. My question is, how can you release someone from care knowing that the are still injured? If you can not help me… medically then would it not be more noble to refer me to another Doctor who can?

I called for an appointment without a referral and was seen in the Auburn Clinic the following Tuesday. Dr. Bernard showed compassion and genuine concern and has even called me himself, after hours, to check on me and follow up on test results. He's everything a doctor should be..and then some. 5 stars are not enough...Thank you Dr. Bernard!!!

Dr. Bernard has been working with me. He shows concern and takes his time to explain my problem. I ask many questions and yet he shows patience and willingness to help me. He is friendly and always greets me with a smile and words of encouragement. He follow ups with reports from other referrals and does discuss their findings with me. He provides recommendations, directions, and advice to me for my improvement. I can say I am pleased with him as a Doctor. Yes,, I would recommend others to him,

I am always greeted with a smile and genuine concern for not only my health and physical condition but my general well being. The staff are friendly and helpful. Dr. Bernard is helpful, concerned and very friendly at every visit. He takes time to explain all my options and address my concerns. He is very through and makes sure I am in control of my treatment as much as possible. He is always available if something happens over nights, weekends or holidays. And he and his staff are very quick to return my calls or make an appointment. Also, I feel they have went above and beyond to help when dealing with my insurance company. Overall if I could give them 10 stars if that were an option.

Dr. Benard, Saw my wife and was not enthusiastic at all about giving her the proper treatment. All he did was an Xray (which we did not want). Offered so treatment and said he will not do an MRI. The Xray came back normal, however, there is a lot of inflammation in swelling in her back. Instead of coming up with an accurate diagnosis he made something up without any evidence of her having the condition he diagnosed her with and gave her steroids for it. This guy is useless and will waste your time, go somewhere else!
