Dr. Thomas Henry Burwinkel, MD

Dr Burwinkel is very informative of protocols. Have a sheet which I have been following each month. Love that he is down to earth and taking the time to talk to you. Also reads my list of questions and answers them when I have them. Very honest person. Very soft spoken, patient and calm Not sure if he gave correct timing for shot though was my only concern. We failed all IUI cycles but not his fault since it was low chances of conception. His office in West Chester is so calm and welcoming.

The whole office is so kind! Dr. Burwinkel answered all our questions and seemed like he genuinely cared for us and helping us get pregnant. He did our egg retrieval and transfer for us and we really enjoyed our experience with him.

I saw Dr. B back in 2007 when he was based in Dayton. He removed a large benign cyst-like tumor from inside my ovary. I saw many doctors before him and they all said that they would have to remove my ovary. Dr. B was the only doctor who said he would preserve my fertility. He did the surgery and I have both ovaries and I just had my first child 10 months ago. He's a wonderful doctor and a superb surgeon!

Dr. Burwinkel and the staff at IRH are outstanding. We couldn't be happier with their treatment. Highly recommend this institute.

AMAZING practice. My husband and I traveled from Louisville to come to this clinic, and I would do it over again in a heartbeat. So thankful for the doctors. They have the best bedside manner ever, and surround themselves with a wonderful team of nurses. If you've thought about coming to them, don't think twice--they're worth it.

He knows answers if you the the questions. Acted like he'd rather be anywhere else.

I was referred to Dr. Burwinkle from my OB/Gyn for a large fibroid and abdominal pain. Dr. Burwinkle is a miracle worker. I had one very large fibroid and several other small ones. During surgery he discovered that I had endometriosis and an edometrial cyst of my left ovary. He took the time and effort to save my ovary. I am now two weeks post surgery and feel like I have a new lease on life. He was patient with me, took the time to fix me all the way, and was amazing. I would recommend him to ANYONE facing challenges with female reproductive situations. I was in so much pain and discomfort, that even two weeks post my myomectomy and open abdominal procedure, I feel better than I have in years. A huge thanks to him, and his amazing abilities as a top notch doctor!

My husband and I drive all the way from west of Indianapolis to see Dr. Burwinkel and recently completed our first round of IVF at IRH. I saw all three doctors at IRH during the past month, however, Dr. Burwinkel is our actual assigned doctor. My experiences with Dr. B have been in STARK contrast to the previous reviewer who complained that Dr. B was hurried and seemed uncaring. I am a RN myself and am immensely impressed with Dr. B's knowledge level, bedside manner, and warm nature. At IRH- a patient has the added benefit of having the combined expertise of 3 wonderful physicians, each of whom brings many years of unique experiences in RE to the table. I am over 40 and am a particularly difficult case for several reasons and I have confidence that Dr. B is creatively and thoughtfully designing and redesigning the best plan possible to make fatherhood possible for my husband and another child possible for me. (I believe it's worth mentioning that if Dr. B indeed did take a necessary… personal call regarding his son/carpooling arrangements - that fact alone lends credence to his helpful, thoughtful, and caring nature. How many fathers would take the time to deal with something like that during a busy work day?) The first day I met Dr. B, I saw him running a full can of trash down the hall, because it needed emptied. Dr. B is very real and very kind and has taken the time to explain everything during every ultrasound he's done (and there have been MANY).

I do not like him at all. The Institute for Reprodutive Health is great the staff as well as Dr's Awadalla and Scheiber are amazing!!! Dr Burwinkle seems very nervous and I have never felt comfortable with him. He doesn't seem very confident in what he doing and is very medical. Dr. Awadalla and Dr. Scheiber are wonderful and would recomend either of them to anyone. Good Luck to all that are trying to conceive.

We saw this dr. after having 2 consecutive miscarriages. The office was wonderful and staff was great, but when we got in to see the Dr. I was not impressed. He spent a few minutes going over all of the lab reports I brought. He then had me tell him about our 2 m/c's. In the middle of our appt. he answered his personal cell phone and continued to talk on it for about 4-5 minutes (about his son's carpooling schedule) There was NO apology for the interuption. He had no bedside manner. He did not ask any questions about our trying to conceive journey or ask anything about my menstrual history. He finally gave me 2 orders for 2 different tests. (one of which I felt was unnecessary). I was very unhappy with how he treated me and my husband. I felt that it was the end of the day and he just wanted to hand me some orders so that he could leave for the day. There was no compassion which I feel should be a requirement in this particular speciality. I would not recommend this Dr. to any of my… friends or family and have told my OB/GYN about my experience. I will be switching dr's immediately.
