Dr. Thomas James Carpenter, DO

Rude, cold, uncaring, disrespectful. Doesn’t even speak to me as his patient when I saw him. Closed office and gave patients 1 week notice and no referral to new Dr. and never forwarded medical records. Extremely unprofessional.

I have been seeing Carpenter/Scott Murphy for 20 years or better. Don't get me wrong, I love them and the staff, but as of May 1, 2019, they no longer take health insurance of any kind, so I am forced to find a new doctor! So sorry to have to leave this group! Being retired and on a limited income I can't afford an office visit! Best of luck and sure wish I could keep him!

The staff was friendly but unprofessional. Went to intake for primary care and a follow up on an ER visit. This was never addressed or was a referral made for a specialist as per the ER Dr. I was never asked to have any medical records transferred. I should have pre-empted that I am a cancer survivor. He entered the room, never crossed to the room and left his hand on the door knob. In fact I never sat on an exam table. I found the whole experience strange and while in the waiting room I actually questioned if I was in a dr. office. He is cold, rude and just goes through the motion.

Dr Carpenter and Scott Murphy had me feeling better than any Dr had in 64 years. I discovered his office is now closed. Can anyone tell me where he and his staff have gone? His assistant Scott Murphy was an excellent health-care provider and will be missed.

My family has been seeing Dr. Carpenter for many years. Service is prompt, staff is great, and most importantly, Tom listens, cares, and takes care of our needs.

Dr. Carpenter is rude and belitteling he has no bedside manner and does not take time to adequately review results or work to make things better. He acts in his office as if he is in the ER. His ARNP Scott is courteous and tries but I never leave the office feeling as if things are totally taken care of. Rest of staff are great.

I waited for over an hour in Town and Country Emergency Room for the Dr. He spend 5 minutes with me, and only touched a small place on my back that was hurting. The pain in my back was a symptom of my problem, not the cause. He seemed more concerned with something that was out of place on the wall than he did about my condition. He did order two medications, but did not tell me the antibiotic I was prescribed earlier in the evening had side effects when taken with the oral steroid he prescribed. For that I received a bill for $661.00. Of course, there was no follow-up. This is just a small example of what is wrong with the medical system.
