Dr. Thomas Lee Dillon, MD

My husband was going to Dr. Dillon and had told me his time with the doctor was only about 30 min while the rest of his 60 min session was spent with them taking his vitals and waiting in waiting room. So I asked our insurance company how long our session should be and they said 60 min and vitals Should Not be deducted from the appointment time. So I asked the very rude receptionist if my husband could come 20 min earlier before his appointment for vitals and she said no. I told her what our insurance said and 1 week later my husband got a personal letter from Dr. Dillon and his letter said he was canceling all future appointments because his wife (me) was accusing him of insurance fraud! I NEVER accused anyone of insurance fraud I only called our insurance to check on our coverage and appointment time because we were getting billed for 60 min when my husband was only getting 30 min of treatment! I have NEVER had this happen before! BEWARE!

Went with my mother to work on my relationship with my family due to their difficulties with my gender and sexual identity. On the first appointment I went in explaining that I was transsexual, have been diagnosed with GID by a previous therapist and was currently undergoing HRT. I told him my intent of these sessions was purely to work with my family. Since then my relationship with my family has worsened and Dillon has blamed everything on me. He refuses to listen to me and will only try and convince me that I'm wrong and not transsexual. He has time and time again requested I put myself in a situation where I will most likely end of depressed.

I have been all over the U.S. looking for an answer and a medication that would alleviate my sudden onset of severe depression and anxiety. I have even been to the Mayo Clinic and very expensive private pay doctors that do not take insurance. I went to U of Washington where I had received excellent care in the past for surgeries. (That was my worst experience of all. I have seen over 30 doctors and specialists. My suffering lasted 1 1/2 years when my GP suggested that I see Dr. Dillon. I was desperate. I had just had shock therapy with no improvement, just damage to my brain. I knew Dr. Dillon could do nothing. He wasn't nationally known and he was from the Tri-Cities! Little did I know. He was confident that the medication he prescribed would make me well again. His confidence was believeable during a time when I no longer believed in anything good. It is what got me through the next few weeks while the medication had a chance to work. I felt better than I had ever felt in… my life! Sure, there are life-threatening side effects and others that aren't so pleasant, but in the end, there is no side effect that can compare with the devastating illness that I was suffering from before I started seeing Dr. Dillon. My advice is: Don't assume that if a doctor is practicing in the Tri-Cities that he/she is bad. I've seen good and bad locally and at the supposedly best clinics/hospitals in the U.S.

I'm new to the area and was trying to find a reliable doctor to provide medication that I have been successful with for over a decade. I was honest about my diagnosis and my past medication history. Because I had a diagnosis and had symptoms in the past that were consistent with an additional treatment regime Dr. Dillon felt compelled to insist that I be on other medication without consideration for a current reality. I conveyed to him that those past symptoms were no longer an issue in any way and that my life was on an upswing. In all areas of life this was very clear. Dr. Dillon would have none of it though. He said, "I cannot have you limping through life." This is the worst kind of doctor, a doctor who does not listen to their patients. ...A doctor who is more caught up in what other professionals may have thought 10 years ago, than allowing himself to glean an unbiased interpretation in the present. He seems to be a physician who is blase at throwing pills at a… problem...easily justifying the potential for life-compromising side effects and not lending the patient equitable footing in the decision. My visit was a colossal waste of time and money, and severely emotionally taxing. His demeanor and tone were patronizing and became ever more so once my history was discussed. It was as if I fit in a mold was talked to more as a diagnosis than an individual.My insurance was billed $480 for the one visit - a portion being the visit, and a portion being testing. His assistant did not clarify that the testing was an additional service. She phrased the proposition of testing, "The doctor wants you to fill these out. You can do it today, or turn them in during your next visit." The tests themselves were of questionable value. I called doctor Dillon's office, when I got word from my insurance that I was to pay the bulk of this additional service, (which I was told I had to do, but which served no value to me.) When I expressed that I didn't feel responsible for the charge his assistant curtly informed me that the matter would be turned over to collections. When I told her that I would be writing a review on the Internet of my experience with Dr. Dillon's practice she told me that a suit for liable would be pursued. At the conclusion of the phone call she strangely informed me that Dr. Dillon was still processing my test results...tests taken 6 weeks prior, largely multiple choice tests!

Dr. Dillon has extensive knowledge of meds, thinks outside the box, and is able to unravel complex problems. He is very good in therapy, and has a kind, caring personality, and good sense of humor. He has always been there for me though several hospitalizations.
