I normally, like a lot of women, loathe my yearly appointment. This year was an exception for me. I recently switched to Dr Dowd after my last provider left the state. I've been having some issues that aren't so fun to talk about, but Dr Dowd made me feel comfortable and helped to put my mind at ease with my concerns. He is a great doctor!!

I am a middle age overweight post menopause patient of Dr. Dowd. I have gone to him close to 10 years now. While my weight is something hard to bring up to a patient he has always checked in with me on how I’m doing with it because he explained how I obesity can cause cancer at my age. He truly cares about his patients whole health not just your female parts. I would highly recommend him no matter your age from beginning period to post menopause he tells you the truth in a way you can understand. Very trustworthy

Dr. Dowd has been my ob/gyn for over 22 years. He has delivered all three of my children via cyserian section. He also performed an oblation and recently my hysterectomy. I have always felt very comfortable talking with Dr. Dowd about my health. He is very friendly, open, and honest with me. I have and would recommend him to anyone. My experiences have always been pleasant.

Dr. Dowd did not take time to listen, appeared to be in a hurry, and made several very unhelpful remarks about my weight. Fortunately, I listened to myself and never went back, did my research and found a new doctor with patience and compassion. I’m sure he’s good at his profession, but I felt as though he were disgusted by my weight. When the appointment ended, I literally sat there just stunned. His parting was like this—he opened the cabinet, pointing out how far over (how obese) I was on the chart, said, “We don’t want to do surgery on people like you,” and walked out of the room. End of appointment. That’s completely uncalled for. I don’t even need surgery. It was a random comment. I know women who really like Dr. Dowd, but clearly I’m not one of them.

Dr. Dowd has delivered all of my children, and I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a knowledgable, compassionate OB/GYN. He answers any question honestly and is willing to go the extra mile to make sure patients understand situations and treatment options.

I've been seeing Dr. Dowd for over a decade. He is a great doctor. He is very professional and knowledgeable. Dr. Dowd makes you feel comfortable and provides honest and straightforward information about your health. I think he's the greatest OB/GYN around and would highly recommend him.

Dr. Dowd was rude and not compassionate. He has horrible bed side manners. He seems very knowledgeable about obstetrics but he severely lacks the kindness and the heart it takes to be in this line of work....I would not recommend him at all.

Dr. Dowd is a great OB, but he should not be allowed to do circumcisions on newborn boys. He performed the circumcision on my baby boy and messed it up. We went through months of fevers and finally discovered that the circumcision was flawed and it had to be repeated at age 19 mo. for my son. It was very traumatic.

Great Doctor. I had a horrible pregnancy and he coached me through it. Always had the best advice and I felt he really did care about my family and me.
