Dr. Thomas Christopher Durbin, MD

Dr. Durbin is a fellowship trained orthopaedic surgeon with special expertise in shoulder and knee surgery and sports medicine. He is from Columbus, Ohio and joined TPMGs Orthopaedic Division in the fall of 2012. After his residency training in orthopaedic surgery and prior to coming to the area, Dr. Durbin completed an orthopaedic surgery fellowship in sports medicine at the University of Kentucky. While at Kentucky, he trained under some of the countrys top orthopaedic sports medicine surgeons and learned innovative operative and nonoperative techniques to return athletes, young and old, to the field. Although he performs a multitude of procedures, he has special interest in anatomic ACL reconstruction, arthroscopic rotator cuff repair, meniscal repairs, and a variety of other arthroscopic procedures. Dr. Durbin also performs general orthopaedics including partial knee replacements and fracture care. While at Kentucky, he provided team coverage to athletes at the high school and …college level, providing urgent care on the field. He was very involved with the Eastern Kentucky University football team and assisted those athletes as they went on to win their conference championship and advance to the FCS playoffs. Dr. Durbin brings this passion for helping athletes to the area. Since arriving in Williamsburg, he has been actively involved with covering games and events at the College of William and Mary, James City County High Schools, and New Kent High School. He remains active in continuing education and is currently a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), the Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA), and the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM).
