Dr. Thomas Scott Ellison, MD

I had back surgery several years ago, still dealt with tremendous pain.Got to point it was unbearable, Thank the good Lord, I found Dr. Thomas Ellison. I was immediately sold on his positive and honest demeanor. Surgery lasted 8+ hours, removed all the old hardware & installed New in different location. It has been six weeks, and I am doing things I haven't been able to do for years. Walking, yard work etc.Dr. Ellison , in my opinion and my wife's opinion definitely deserves Sainthood!!! After living with such pain for so many years, it is so wonderful to look forward to getting up in the morning!!Not a day goes by that I do Not thank the Lord for Dr. Ellison!! We have NEVER met a more caring, personable & passionate Doctor!!! I will also ad, the entire staff is truly amazing!!! If anyone reading this needs a surgeon, Dr. Ellison comes highly recommended!!!

His attitude and lack of professionalism were appalling. He interrupted me the entire time and never even finished discussing my history or the reason for my visit. I waited an hour and a half and he spent five minutes with me. He looked at my MRI for a few seconds and said my neck looked normal and he couldn’t explain my pain. He said he would do surgery, because he likes doing surgery, but it wouldn’t help. It really was insulting, a waste of time and money. I hope Tidelands seriously reconsiders having him on their team.

I had an appointment with this doctor a number of years ago and have never forgotten it--it was awful! His comment "No one is going to operate on you with that back!!" This after a 3 minute physical look at my back. I went on to have two very successful hip replacement surgeries ! I can't verify it but I would not be a bit surprised if there is on the books somewhere that there have been medical disasters after his spine surgeries Be ware, dear folks, this is not a doctor you want to put your trust in!!!

I was referred to Dr. Ellison after a car accident. His consult took 4 minutes. He told me which pain killers he wanted to prescribe. I told him I wouldn't take pain killers and he said then he couldn't help me. He spent more time telling me he doesn't get kickbacks from the drug companies, even though I didn't ask. It seemed like a sales pitch for drugs.

I saw Dr. Ellison several times in Salisbury until he left. He was never rude or unprofessional. He always was very pleasant. I would have continued with him but he left.

Rudest Doctor we have ever met! Super huge Ego. Staff IS GREAT! He interrupts/doesn't let you speak. Said other doctors think they are God. He needs to look in the mirror. Totally UNHELPFUL! Zero compassion. Didn't perform a thorough neurology test as we found out after going to the SE Spine Institute. He missed a simple "toe test" that could have saved weeks of agony. Would not prescribe PAIN meds. Did not explain MRI at all! Wouldn't do surgery. SE Spine said surgery was only option. HORRIBLE!

Simply stated, Dr Ellison , rebuilt my lower back and had me on my feet and on my way to recovery in 72 hours. I can't thank him enough. His staff at his office were very friendly and professional as well. Congratulations on being elected to the board at Tidelands.

There's a reason this Dr. has received so many poor reviews. We were referred here by the hospital and hoped these reviews were not true. The entire process was terrible. From scheduling with rude office staff to the ego and horrible bedside manner of this Dr. We have never been spoke to in such an unprofessional manner and actually ended up walking out of the office. I would not even consider having surgery or any procedure by such an uncaring person. If we could rate a 0 we would. A 1 is being too kind. Strongly recommend finding someone else who has time for you and actually cares about the patients.

Horrific incompetence among the office staff! No compassion or care. Look elsewhere. Would not recommend under any circumstances!
