Dr. Thomas Michael Fitzgerald JR., MD

I have been a patient of Dr. Fitzgerald for over 25 years. I see him 3-4 times a year for medication monitoring for anxiety and depression. He is a very knowledgeable doctor and is professional in every way. He is compassionate and puts me at ease. I am grateful I was referred to Dr. Fitzgerald many years ago.

I've been a patient of Dr. Fitzgerald for 25 years. I can't say enough great things about Dr. Fitzgerald and his practice.

Dr. Fitzgerald was my first psychiatrist and I worked with him for several years until moving up north. I must say, I felt most comfortable with him as my psychiatrist. His appointments were never too backed up, which I found surprising because I always felt like I had plenty of time and was never rushed. One thing I liked about him is that he didn't take me into his office and leave me for an additional wait time; when we went back he was always ready to start and prepped with my notes. He was always very professional, as was his staff. Highly recommended.

Pushed Ambien on me against my better judgement, dismissed my fear of it and now looking at a mandatory minimum of 1 year prison THE VERY FIRST NIGHT I TOOK IT because of her obvious incompetence ... Story below I'm in the middle of a nightmare because of this office, not Dr. Fitzgerald personally. The lady (Christina) I usually go through for my Rx went to another job so I was dealing with a new lady. I'm VERY MUCH against taking Ambien because my ex husband had a bad experience and drove while sound asleep and Christina was awesome about this and didn't ask anymore after I told her why whereas this new lady was pushing it hard the last 2 appointments (she's only been there 2-3 months). I told her I was terrified of taking it and she said that I've tried everything else and while she understands I'm extremely nervous to try it I need to take it for a month anyway and then if I don't like it I didn't have to take it anymore but I need to try it, that 'everything will be fine'. I… took it and 'woke up' at the police station barefooted to find out my daughter apparently missed the bus and she asked me to take her not realizing that I was sleep walking until we were in the car. The school is exactly 1 mile away, I awoke to 4 charges (DWI, Child Endangerment, People Endangerment and Hit & Run). The MINIMUM MANDATORY SENTENCE is 1 year for Child Endangerment. So I'm going to lose my home and car for nonpayment since I'll have no income do to being in prison, my child will be ripped from me and has to go live her dad (my child and I are extremely close) and I have to find a home for my pets because the Humane Society will put them down after a week. Even though I was asleep and my blood test only show Ambien due to this women's grave incompetence, because I chose to take my PRESCRIPTION written by MY DOCTOR, I'm accountable. This women has single handily ruined my life, do yourself a favor and go elsewhere!

Dr Fitzgerald kept adding very powerful meds, rather than trying a new one, singularly. Ended up with hallucinations, extreme weight gain, and serious Parkinson's disease symptoms, some of which remains. Thank God for primary physician and neurologist that figured it out.

Prescribed me medication that cannot be taken together. Caused a psychotic break which required ambulance and 6 days in ICU and 4 more on the Psych unit. He knew what happened and never called or visited. 3 years ylater I am disabled and cannot work still. This office is dangerous. Under no circumstances should you go there.

Easy to talk to. Caring. Very knowledgeable about ADD and addiction. Keeps me up to date on the latest research and explains the hows and whys of treatment.

This was the worst customer service I have ever received from a psychiatric receptionist. I suffer from anxiety and depression and asked to be referred because they could not schedule me in due to their policy of the fact that I made two new patient appointments and could not make them. They rudely told me I could not be seen by the doctor and I asked if they could refer me to someone else and Joe, the receptionist I was speaking with then proceeded to tell me to check my yellow pages and rudely hung up on me. I feel when you deal with patients who have mental issues you should be extremely sensitive to their feelings and this man was horribly cruel.

A patient of 10+ years. Diagnosed the mental medical condition accurately and quickly. Extremely knowledgeable and an expert in his field. Responds quickly to emergency situations. His judgment is trusted 100%. Affable, quick wit, the ideal psychiatrist.

I've been seeing Dr. Fitzgerald for almost 2 years. He is very knowledgable about medications and listens to me. I usually do have to wait a bit when I go but if I'm having difficulty with my disease or meds I am always fit in to see him quickly. The staff has always called back promptly when I leave messages for the doc and has helped me tremendously with all the paperwork for short term disability. One time he was short with me. He always seems to asks the right questions and makes sure I'm following up with therapy. I think he's a very smart man and would recommend him highly.
