seemed to know what he is doing, the ait time for 5 min follow up was almost 2 hrs every time, someone needs to learn how to work on their schedule.

Dr. Gillette is excellent in every area of eye care. His manners are excellent too. I do not know of any doctor so excellent as he is.

I WAS NEARLY BLIND IN BOTH EYES DUE TO FUCH'S AND CATERACTS. FOR MANY YEARS I WAS AFRAID OF SURGERY OR GOING TO DOCTORS SO I WAS FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO HAVE THE BEST SURGENT IN THE WORLD(DR. GILLETTE) OPERATE IN BOTH EYES WITHIN A MONTH APART AND NOW I SEE 20/20 WITHIN A MONTH. I SEE SO GOOD NOW AS IF HE PUT A MAGNIFIER IN EACH EYE OF MINE. HE IS TRULY THE MIRACLE WORKER WHO GAVE ME A BETTER VISION. I DEFINITLY RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYONE WITH ANY EYE PROBLEMS. HE HAS EXPERIENCE AND ACCURACY IN HIS WORK. I was referred to Dr. Gillette by another Eye Physician because he was not able to diagnose my problem. I had gone to 3 ophthalmologists prior to seeing Gillette. Dr. Gillette diagnosed and treated me in one visit. Serious problems I had for 3 years were solved. Recently my elderly mother had an un- diagnosed problem after having visited 2 other ophthalmologists. She was referred to Gillette. He resolved the issue the first time he saw her. Amazing physician. Good luck getting in. You need to get a referral from another ophthalmologist but let me tell you, It's worth it! Also he's one of only two ophthalmologists in the state who does corneal transplants. Rating: 5++

Dr. Gillette performed a partial cornea transplant on my right eye 4 years ago. My vision was 20/200 before surgery and 20/30 with corrective lens after surgery. I still have 20/30 today. I have recommended him to several friends and to anyone looking for an outstanding eye surgeon.

Gillette is thorough, accurate, complete and obviously thoughtful.

The true measure of a doctor is when he/she has courage to take on difficult cases and help patients in the worst cases or hopeless cases where others give up. There are too many doctors who just care about ratings and pick easy cases so their statistics looks good. I had a history of many issues with both of my eyes: severe myopia and astigmatism corrected many years ago with LASIK, floaters, retina tear, presbyopia, Choroidal Neovascularization (CNV). I started losing vision in one eye having 20/200 vision in that eye. Two years ago one Ophthalmologist told me: â??I do not know what is wrong with your eye there is nothing much that can be done.â?? I lived depressed for one year before I decided to go to another Ophthalmologist. This second doctor also told me that there is not much hope and treated me with many uncomfortable injections into my eyeball over 6 months that had no effect on my vision. I went to the third Ophthalmologist then the fourth was Dr. Gillette. He… immediately identified that major problem why I have such poor vision is due to cataract not CNV. He told me that due to LASIK I had in the past we may have challenge to match the perfect lens. He was right. After second surgery my far vision is around 20/30 without any additional lenses thanks to Dr. Gillette! I was almost blind in one eye and other doctors told me it only will get worse. I wish Dr. Gillette never retires and will be able to help many more difficult or hopeless cases like mine. I also found even more severe case than mine where Dr. Gillette helped pioneer new solutions and help literally blind people see. He needs to retire .does not seem to be truly interested in helping his patients and seems unsure and noncommital about everything.wasted 2 years going to him and he didnt do a good job with my transplant. I dont know why people rave about this dr. he has the personality of a dead fish.

I was extremely disappointed with my minor surgical procedure performed by Dr. Gillette. Not only did it begin four hours late, but nobody from the staff even let me know why it was so late. And I certainly didn't get an apology from the Dr. He was clearly irritated that he was behind on the schedule when they rolled me into the surgical suite. He was abrupt with staff and made rude comments to me during the surgery, apparently frustrated I was moving my eye too much as he injected a large needle into my eyeball. I was appalled at not only his rude treatment of me during the surgery but also the way he yelled at his surgical staff. That says a lot about the doctor when they treat their staff like that. He is obviously a talented doctor, that is why I chose him but in the future, I will continue to see somebody who shows a litte more compassion towards patients and staff and certainly someone who at least pretends he enjoys his job
