Dr Guyn just wants to send you out on referrals to specialists... doesn't want to help you very much. Office staff horrible and a total pain to get prescriptions refilled

Last week Dr. Guyn informed me he no longer wanted to be my doctor. He has refused to renew one of my prescriptions which I had been given by his predecessor. It is Promethazine Codeine Syrup. He said it is addictive. One 8 oz. bottle lasts me for 3 to 4 months. I don't think I am addicted. I'm 81. The syrup helps with controlling m cough associated with chronic bronchitis and allergies to much that grows. His decision came at a very bad time as I just had an ablation, was advised of my daughters death and was coming down with pneumonia.

This comment is about the support staff not Dr. Guyn. Dr. Guyn is a straightforward, no-nonsense doctor, but he does show kindness and empathy. The staff is horrible, Their response to any question is I can't help you. I have a family member with Alzheimer's and she relies on a combination of family and supportive services for a ride. I am sick today and arranged for a driver. After a miscommunication with a driver, she was going to be slightly late for an appointment. I called to ask if she could be please be accommodated. After waiting on hold for 15 minutes, the staff member said there was no way she would be seen if she was more than 5 minutes late. I explained that her back is infected and it is very difficult to get her there. The woman said it wasn't her problem. When I asked if they could try showing a little more kindness and empathy - she hung up on me. Thanks for your help! No one cares if we wait 30 minutes plus to be seen for a 5 minute appointment, but God forbid you are… late.
