Dr. Thomas Alfred Harrington JR., MD

I have been going to Dr. Harrington for over 30 years and will miss him when he retires. He is an outstanding physician. Very caring and excellent at diagnosing medical conditions. Only issue is his current receptionist does not answer the phone. Normally I have to leave a message and wait for a call back.

I HAVE SEVERAL PROBLEMS, MOSTLY OSTEOARTHRITIS, RHEM. ARTHRITIS, MOSTLY DEGENERATIVE. UNDER CARE OF PROMINENT ORTHOPEDIC FOR ABOUT 5 YEARS FOR VARIOUS ORTHOPEDIC PROBLEMS, BUT NEEDED A PRIMARY CARE, SO I CHOSE DR. HARINGTON. WRONG DECISION. HE STARTED THE VERY FIRST TIME SHOWING ME HIS COMPUTER WHERE HE COULD FIND OUT ANYTHNG ABOUT ME. OK SO HE HAS A COMPUTER, BUT I LIKE A PERSONAL, FACE TO FACE PERSON. FIRST WAS MENTIONED HE GAVE NO NARCOTICS, OK I WAS SEEING MY ORTHO, BUT HE DID CONSENT TO A SMALL DOSE OF TRAMADOL IF NEEDED. AFTER SEVERAL YEARS WITH HIM, GETTNG WORSE, THE ORTHO DR. TOLD ME TO GO TO MY PRIMARY CARE PHYSICIAN THAT I NEEDED MORE PAIN MEDS. I KNEW THEN THAT MY TIME WITH DR. HARRINGTON WAS NEARING END. HE RUDELY ASKED ME "WHAT DO YOU WANT" I WAS DOING WHAT I WAS TOLD TO DO. I TOLD HIM A COUPLE VICODIN A DAY AND TRAMADOL FOR BREAKTHRU.. HE BY THIS TIME, TRYING TO KEEP HIS COOL, GAVE RX. FOR 2 VICODIN A DAY AND 2 TRAMADOL A DAY. OF COURSE THIS WAS NOT GOING TO WORK, HE CUT… THE TRAMADOL WHICH I HAD BEEN TAKING ABOUT EVERY HOURS A DAY IF NEEDED AND RARELY THE VICODIN. RAN OUT OF THE TRAMADOL A WEKEND AGO AND HIS PARTNER TOLD ME TO GO TO PATIENT FIRST. DR. GAVE ME 30 TRAMADOL TO LAST THE WEEKEND. I WILL BE MOVING IN A COUPLE WEEKS AND NEEDED HIM TO CARRY ME UNTIL I GET SETTLED. I HAVE BEEN HARASSED, IGNORED BY HIS STAFF, TOLD ME MANY LIES AND REFUSES TO GIVE ME A RX. FOR THE VICODIN THAT HE OWES ME AND NO TRAMADOL, BECAUSE 2 DRS. CANT GIVE PAIN MED. WHICH WAS IS A LIE, BUT ANGRY ABOUT BEING TOLD BY A DR. I NEEDED HIM TO GIVE ME SOME. " EVEN LOOKED AT ME AND ASKED "ARE YOU REALLY MOVING? THIS HAS INFURATED MY FAMILY, MY SON TO WHERE WE ARE MOVING AND NOBODY CAN BELIEVE THAT HE HAS TOTALLY REFUSED ANY MED TO GET ME EVEN HOME. THIS IS THE CARING STAFF, MED. ASST., ETC. THAT HE USES TO TALK FOR HIM. THE ONLY PERSON IN THAT OFFICE IS HIS RECEPTIONIST, CRYSTAL, WHO SEEMS TO DO HER JOB, RESPECT YOU. HOPEFULLY, SINCE SO MANY FEEL THAT HE IS WONDERFUL, NEVER HAS AN EXPERIENCE LIKE I HAVE HAD, BECAUSE I DID WHAT I WAS TOLD TO DO, HAVE BEEN DRILLED BY HIS SO CALLED NEW OFFICE MANAGER WHO ASKED ME QUESTIONS LIKE A LAWYER AND THEY MOSTLY WAS NONE OF HER BUSINESS. SORRY ABOUT ALL THIS AND I KNOW HE IS GLAD I AM GONE ALTHOUGH IT IS ONLY BECAUSE I GOT A FEW TRAMADOL FROM PAT. FIRST LIKE I WAS TOLD TO DO, AND HE JUST DOESN'T CARE. GO A THOUSAND MILES NOT BEING ABLE TO MOVE A BONE IN MY BODY., BUT REGARDLESS I HAVE GOD ON MY SIDE AND I WILL BE OKAY, NO THANKS TO HIM.

Dr. Harrington is Interested in his patients. Take proud in knowing their health and tries to solve whatever problem that develops.

Every time have any sort of interaction with this women she is rude. She doesn't care if you are sick or hurting. Why do people like this go into customer service? She should be fired. I know I can't be the only theta has had such poor experiences with her. He is such an excellent doctor it bums me out that he has such a horrible representation of himself with her. I am thinking of switching doctors because of her. I don't enjoy having to go to the doctor and she makes it that much worse.

best doctor I have ever had trying to keep me healthy...staff is great...goes out of there way to help...if you live in the Churchland/western branch area and need a great dr. and staff you owe it to yourself to give him/them a call...

Dr. Harrington spends as much time with me as needed. He always follows up on any questions and returns my phone calls. I trust his diagnosis over most Specialists. Excellent bedside manners. His staff is helpful and courteous. I trust him with all of my medical needs.

This place is awful...never coming.

Dr. Harrington treats his patients like intelligent human beings. He takes time to listen, he makes his patients feel as though they are part of a team working together to resolve the patient's problems. He's respectful of his patients, spends as much time as necessary with them; he's caring and highly intelligent. It took me five and half months to find him; it was worth the wait.

I have been a patient of Dr. Harrington`s for over twenty years. He always treats his patients with respect and takes the time to listen. He is the best doctor I have ever known and a good family man!

I have been his patient for 13 years and I trust him completely. He encourages me to ask questions and he makes sure I understand what is going on with my health.I would recommend him with no hesitation, because he is straight forward and up front, and will tell me the truth whether I want to hear it or not.
