I visited Dr. Holovacs for a frozen shoulder and was scheduled with his PA. After 20 minutes of ignoring me (I was the first appointment of the morning), I finally spoke with the receptionist and said I have an appointment. Come to find out, it was the PA distracting the receptionist with her personal drama. The PA gave me a snarky look for "interrupting", and could not display less concern for my condition or care. She did not perform an adequate exam, and she did not listen to me about the source of my pain. She insisted on a Cortizon shot in a location that made little sense given the source of my inflammation and pain, and of course it didn't work. I have now lost weeks in pain messing around with this office, and I'm back to square one looking for a doctor to find care. Don't waste your time at this office.

I am a shoulder surgeon and had Dr. Holovacs operate on my AC joint. He is very talented. No issues what so ever so

I had an excellent experience having my shoulder replaced with Dr. Holovacs at MGH. He was the third surgeon I'd been to see, and I am SO glad I chose him for the operation! Everything was very professionally and smoothly done, and I came out of the procedure with minimal pain or difficulty.

I had surgery done 7 years ago, a torn labrum, torn rotator cuff, and a torn bicep tendon. I was a mess. Dr. Holovacs performed surgery on me and fixed me up as good as new. It was one of the best decisions I've ever made. In fact I told him so today when I saw him, because my shoulder was in a little discomfort from an unrelated issue. He could not have been nicer or more respectful. He was friendly and polite and gave me all the time I needed. I am so grateful to him for giving me a pain free shoulder.

Arrogant!

He is absolutely the most rude, uncaring Doctor I have ever engaged with.. But not at first.. During the initial consultation he was all nice and told me all the positive things surgery would do for my shoulder.. So i get the surgery which i assume goes well.. My follow up was in two weeks and when I went I did not even get to see him but his PA who came in with two pieces of paper with follow up instructions and a prescription for physical therapy which she handed to me and wanted me to go on my merry way.. She never asked how i was doing and when i told her i had a few concerns she acted as if i was really putting her out.. My sling was giving me a nasty rash and when i was asked her to have a look she did all but roll her eyes at me.. She (the PA) didnt do anything to actually help the problem like put gauze or even antibiotic but just told me to go home and do that.. Then told me goodbye and follow up in 6 more weeks.. So I go back 6 weeks later and actually see Dr. Holovacs… and explain to him that since my surgery it is waaaay worse than before I even got the surgery.. He asked about Physical Therapy and i told him that I had several sessions but had to stop last week because my insurance wasnt covering it and it was "under review" so he told me i had to go anyway.. I explained I cant afford to pay for Therapy if insurance wasnt covering it and his answer to me was " Well thats your decision" very condescendingly.. Then I asked how long until It heals and he said "I cant tell you that" .. I said well you are the Doctor dont you even have a guesstemate? He said every situation is different.. I was getting really annoyed and basically told him i would never have gotten the surgery if I knew that it was going to make it worse.. He informed that he definitely mentioned that there could be complications and could even be worse.. (I never remembered that conversation).. So then he basically sends me on my way.. I ask him about a follow up and he said "Oh well lets just play it by ear" ... So my overall take is this.. In his initial consult he will really sell you on getting surgery.. but as soon as its done.. your nothing but a nuisance to him.. I am seriously considering filing an official complaint..

I had X-rays and MRIs on both shoulders with four office visits and never saw Dr. Holovacs. Ended up going to another shoulder Doctor who sat down with me to review my MRIs
