Summary

I went into medicine because I want to help people live healthy lives, and I chose pediatrics because I like to take care of kids. Its fun to watch them grow up, and to help them along the way. As a pediatrician I get to share the joys in seeing a child take his or her first steps, say their first word, begin kindergarten, graduate from high school, and hundreds of other milestones along the way. One aspect of pediatrics that I particularly like is the emphasis on prevention of illness and disease.

I believe in providing patient care that is evidence based, meaning that it's based on the latest research and has been proven to be beneficial. The key is to provide treatments when they are necessary and helpful. But we also find that frequently in children, the body can heal itself, and no medications or other treatments are necessary. I particularly try to avoid overuse of antibiotics because we are seeing more resistant infections and we know that the more antibiotics a child receives, the more likely they are to have infections that are resistant to the antibiotics we do use.

The most important part of a visit with my patients is the communication that occurs. As a physician, it’s important that I listen carefully to parent concerns, so parents can make the most of their visits by accurately describing what is going on with their child. Also, it’s important for patients and their parents to listen carefully so that they understand things completely.

In addition to being board-certified in pediatrics, I have a Master’s Degree in Population Health. This is the study of the most effective ways to improve the public’s health through applying knowledge, resources, disease prevention, health policy and management.

I am married and have three daughters that keep me very busy when I am not working. My outside interests include outdoor activities, such as bicycling, hiking and mountain biking. I also enjoy music and I play the piano.

Ensuring Data Transparency and Trust: A Guide to Vitals Doctor Listings and Reviews

Our provider data is gathered directly from physicians and publicly available databases. Providers who verify their profiles gain the ability to update information, offering additional details about their specialties, education, treated conditions, performed procedures, and accepted insurances.

Reviews on Vitals are submitted by users only. Recognizing the valuable insights these reviews offer into a doctor's reputation, we maintain internal policies and protocols to ensure the quality and accuracy of all reviews. Importantly, providers cannot delete or alter reviews independently. Reviews can only be deleted or changed following an internal assessment by our customer service team.

Your feedback is highly valued and we encourage you to contact our support team should you encounter any issues.
