I had a total knee replacement on Jan 20th of this year. Drove up from RI day before, and was home the night of the surgery! Within 3 weeks I have 130 degrees range of motion with minimal discomfort, and have not had to use opioids for pain management! Enthusiastically recommend Dr King for anyone within 250 miles of Portsmouth....it's worth the drive!

Dr King and his team are dedicated to perfecting their skills and your outcome. They are constantly reviewing and tweaking their procedures, always improving. And it pays off for us patients! Dr. King had replaced my right knee 7 years ago and he replaced my left knee 3 weeks ago. The changes in the procedure and my results are stunning. Changes to anesthesia, pain control, immediate PT have all put me way ahead of the curve in comparison to my previous experience. I'm able to do things at 3 weeks that took 2 months to achieve last time. I drive from Lakes Region NH to Portsmouth to work with this team....because they are that good.

I had hip replacement surgery but had at least two bone fractures occur duing the surgery. This is a risk of having hip surgery. However, as a result of Dr. King not telling me about the fractures I developed an avulsion, which would not have occured had he taken precautions and told me and girded me and gave me specific advise to avoid abduction. Furthermore, he refused to issue orders for MRI and Bone scan to substantiate or refute his opinion that I had fast onset osteoporosis. I had another doctor issue this tests and my bones were in as good of a shape as 5 years earlier, even reducing some concerns about osteopenia. I could have avoided months of agony, stress in the marriage, and have had a quicker recovery had Dr. King been honest about the fracture. I would have understood that fractures are a risk, merely by tapping in metal rods into the center of a bone. He only wanted to talk about the success of the placement of the prothesis and completely avoid how to… compensate/treat for the fracture.

After TKR, my life has not been the same due to nerve damage during the surgery. 4.5 years later and I still cry daily and wish I had never met Dr. King. One visit and he says I need surgery, day surgery and he ruined my leg, my back and now my other leg is involved. Please go elsewhere, I speak for myself but during my process I have met many others that are having the same issue. Also, he takes no responsibility, he just said, go to another Dr for nerve issues. I am so serious when I write this in tears. My life will never be the same, shame on him

After being mis-diagnosed or rather not diagnosed at all at a Sports Medicine Facility I made an appt. with Dr. King. Several of my co-workers had recommended him. Because it was my first time there I had to wait a month to see him but as soon as he saw me he knew immediately that I had a torn meniscus. I find it unbelievable that the Sports Medicine Facility had no clue after sending me to physical therapy and several appts. Someting is wrong if you can't walk no matter what your age! I was in surgery four days after seeing Dr. King and because of 4 months before diagnosis was a quite lengthy recuperation. Dr. King was excellent and I would refer anyone to him. The only drawback is the follow-up appt. is not with him but his Physician Asst's are very good and if there was a problem would consult with him. Highly recommended.
