Dr. Thomas Marion Loeb, MD

Had a modified Macintosh knee surgery in 1980’s as a result of torn, and removed ACL. Don’t know if this surgery is still performed, but was an abject failure. By design, during the surgery, Dr Loeb, created a slight bend in my knee, limiting full extension. Said it was to enhance stability in the knee post surgery. Physical therapists and surgeons now look at my knee in horror, saying they would never limit full extension. From the get go, the lack of full extension compromised the ability to strengthen the leg. Needed another surgery to correct(minimally, since the damage was done) this failed surgery. How anyone, particularly a surgeon, ever thought that limiting full extension of the leg was a good thing is astounding.

Dr was not very though in the exam and did not even take xrays of my knee. He only talked with me for a little while and then even got the information mixed up. Not very professional.

Every single time I cal this office, the staff is rude and condescending. Dr. Loeb was rude to my family at surgery and did not inform me of other treatment otions before surgery. Nor did he discuss post op physical therapy with me before surgery. Melissa, his nurse practitioner is the ONLY saving grace to this office! She is the only staff member who speaks to myself, my mother, or my husband with any respect when we call the office. I will NOT be returning to this office to have my other surgeries that are imminent.

Great physician with many years of experience. Knowledgeable with great bedside manner.
