Dr. Thomas John Nielsen, MD

Before my appointment, I asked the office to verify that my new insurance was in-network with this doctor. The secretary told assured me that it was and that my procedure would be covered. After my appointment, I received a large bill. I called their billing department and the representative told me that my insurance is not in network with that doctor. I have been trying to reach the office manager or anyone in the office to speak about this and no one is answering my calls or responding to my messages. I cannot believe the poor patient service I had received. I do not recommend going to this office. Find another one.

Dr. Nielsen called me on a Sunday afternoon from Rush with results from my MRI two days prior. He is the very est ENT you will every find anywhere.

Did surgery to correct a deviated septem, less than ten years later I couldn’t breathe from one side of my nose anymore. Went back to this guy and instead of admitting fault he told me I had an infection and gave me antibiotics. Didn’t help and I’m the same as I was before this surgery. What’s worse is I had no insurance and paid cash.

The most professional and personable doctor I've ever had. Good sense of humor. Listens. Not the least bit condescending. And gets the job done, What more could one ask?

As a first-time patient (or any patient), to wait 45 minutes just to be escorted to an exam room and five minutes later, be confronted with Dr. Nielsen only to be told he'll be back in 10 minutes (any apology for his delay? NO), was a complete insult. If my experience is representative of how he runs his practice, he obviously doesn't need any new patients; and those he manages to keep? You must not mind being treated like second class citizens.

Dr. Nielsen took very good care of my dad. My Dad trusts his decisions as he is a very smart man.

When I arrived at the emergency room at RUSH.......I was lucky to have been referred to Dr Nielsen. Within a few hours I had a trach in and was able to breath again. He did amazing things to make me have the most success and now I am trach free and doing well. This Dr, is WONDERFUL. Thank you Dr Nielsen.

This doctor is incredible. A person is sick and dying and this doctor is able to make a sick dying person feel as if he or she is the only patient he has. He makes you feel so comfortable with the horrible stuff you are going through, he is unbelievably thorough;checking even the smallest of in-discrepancies a person might have. He, and all his staff that we have met, are extremely compassionate.

From the moment I went to his office I felt like I was in the right place. The staff and nurses were polite and friendly, after a wait of 10 mins tops I went into his exam room and he immediately made me feel at ease, his knowledge and treatment of my thyroid condition couldnt have been better. I will reccommend him to anyone I know who has any type of throat condition that mey need surgery. Great Job Dr Nielsen
