Dr. Thomas Edward Odmark, MD

Dr Odmark performed surgery on my torn Achilles tendon leaving me with severe tibial nerve damage. I have no sensation in the bottom of my foot and loss the use of my foot muscles. The foot muscles have atrophied causing my toes to claw in a painful deformity. Without protective sensation I am unable to walk barefoot in my own house for fear of an injury that I am unable to feel. Due to the numbness I must now use a chair when I shower for fear of slipping on my numb foot. I'm in pain when I stand and it worsens with walking. I can find no other instances of this injury occurring with this procedure. The surgery performed by Dr Odmark has wrecked my life and I must live with it everyday.

I saw Dr. Odmark for a fracture of the 5th metatarsal; my appointment was quickly scheduled which I appreciated. Due to my own schedule change, I arrived at the office (Palm Harbor) more than an hour ahead of my scheduled appointment. The friendly front desk staff was able to get me in to be seen very quickly. Kiarra, the PA saw me first; she was very thorough, and explained my injury and expectations for recovery. Kiarra offered me as much time as needed for my questions. Dr Odmark came in the room just a shortly Kiarra left, and reconfirmed what she told me. Although my time with him was very short, it was all that was needed. Mine is not a complicated situation, yet I came away from the visit with a strong sense of confidence in the providers and in the practice.

April 2017 I was in Norway, I slipped on ice and ended up with a bimalleolar ankle fracture. In Norway I had an exterior fixation put on my right leg to stablize me for the flight back to FL. Once back in FL I saw Dr Odmark and he was amazing, a procedure that was to take approx. 2 1/2 hours ended up taking over 5 hours. my fibula split and was starting to grow together, but this would have caused my right leg to be almost 2 inches shorter than the left. He saw this and did what was needed to make it right. It is now March 2023 and I am doing great, I can't thank him enough and his staff for the excellent surgery.

I had a trimalleolar ankle fracture. Dr. Odmark did the repair in December 2022. He even called. Few days later to check on me. So far, so good! I feel he is an excellent surgeon and am now starting on light weight bearing walking in a boot. Follow up appointments are great, highly recommend.

I do not understand why all these reviews are so poor. Dr. Tom a remark did an amazing job on my torn Achilles! I could not have asked for a better experience!I had about a 30 minute wait which was pretty good relative to other doctors. The staff was so sweet and helped me with everything I needed! Dr. Odmark is doing wonderful Add his new association Alexander Orthopedics Associates. He was very kind and made sure I had everything I needed. he also thoroughly provided me with all of my choices and options and explained what would be the best fit for me personally. Dr. Odmark has put the joy back to my life that I thought was gone forever! I couldn’t have done it without him and his incredible team!!! 10 out of 10 would definitely recommend!

Worst mistake of my life.He gave me the impression it was a simple surgery.I don’t trust this Dr. at all.

The only negative was the 1 hour wait, but if it was for a patient in need, then we understand. It happens, and seems to happen more lately for so many reasons. Would obviously prefer prompt service, but if he gave that time to something, only hope it's available if needed. Meantime, staff was friendly and accommodating. Dr. O came in, did the exam, explained what he was seeing, and then offered surgery yes/no options, explaining issues related to both. As he came to know "the patient", he realized that surgery was a better solution for the torn Achilles rather than the cast/boot alternative. Arrived at agreement, got surgery scheduled within a week, had the prescriptions for post-op care printed out and he immediately wrote a letter to use with travel insurance refunds. What's not to like? Oh, the surgery isn't done yet, so another check in after it's done.

i went through three surgeries with dr odmark each one gave me excellent results to a bad situation . I highly reccomend him .

I’m in worse condition then before. Totally uncaring. You never see the doctor after surgery. Go elsewhere. This man cripple me .
