Dr. Thomas J. Schermerhorn, MD

I love Dr.Schermerhorn. He delivered my daughter after helping me try for years to get pregnant. He was thorough, well educated and really cared about me and my baby. I am forever grateful to him and his staff.

This doctor is heartless!!! He doesn't know how to communicate with his patients.

I delivered both of my sons at ARMC by obgyns at Kernodle Clinic West. My first was with Dr. D and was great. My second was delivered by Dr. Schermerhorn and was a truly horrible experience. Not only did Dr. Schermerhorn dismiss all of my concerns during my pregnancy, but when my son was born nearly 3 months premature Dr. Schermerhorn had the audacity to snap at me immediately after delivery and mockingly asked "Why are you crying?!" as my son was lying there limp, blue and being rescusitated. My husband and mother were in the delivery room and piped up that I had every right to express my feelings when my child was laying there not breathing. Dr. Schermerhorn scoffed and walked out of the room. I didn't see him for the remainder of my hospital stay. To say he is an arrogant doctor with no bedside manner is an understatement.

The day I got my diagnoses Dr. Schermerhorn talked down to me and behaved as though he had more important things to do. I opted for the surgery which appeared to frustrate him more. Turned out my condition was far worse than he anticipated and I was in surgery for several hours. When he came to see me later he looked tired and was wearing a little egg on his face but his bedside manner was still rather cold. I got the definite impression that I had taken too much of his time. He is an excellent surgeon and he fixed me but I never went back- Wouldn't want to bother him.
