Dr. Thomas Charles Wilson, MD

My husband had an appointment with this physician today. He is listed on his insurance website as participating. They verified he does accept his insurance for the visit. After 3 separate conversations with 3 different office staff they refused to keep my husbands appointment or establish him as a patient because the doctor would not be paid by the insurance if he wanted to make him a brace or do surgery. Never met him and knows no details about him whatsoever, but refused to even see him the first time. The insurance would pay for braces or DME if the doctor wrote an order just not for one he made himself. Even after explaining in detail that the other physicians in this area who deal with the type of issue my husband has could not see him the office got progressively argumentative and my husband finally said forget it. Wow. Unbelievable. Needless to say we reported this to the insurance and will definitely make it well known.

Dr. Wilson over treated a minor issue for months, running up unnecessary charges and recommending first a brace, then a boot, then a cast, when most likely (and based on the treatment by other professionals) these were not appropriate or necessary. The entire experience was frustrating and disappointing.
