Yes I would choose him again. He is very personable, fantastic bedside manners and he exudes confidence and truly shows care on what he is about to do.

I was placed into the hospital due to aggravated abominable pain initially thought to portend appendicitis and initially diagnosed with very bad constipation. 72 hours after admittance my morning white cell count had shot well above normal levels requiring being opened up to find the problem which was still unknown at this point in time. Dr Young simply happened to be the Dr in the rotation that day but research since has shown me just how fortunate I was. Today the cause is still unknown, but my entire right colon has grown so distended the blood supply had been cut off and was for all purposes, DOA. It, and my appendix were removed leaving the healthy remnants. The appendix was later found to contain a cancerous tumor in the 2cm range, but had not metastasized. In theory I was cured. Followup 6 months later showed I still have cancer markers in my blood. He sent me to a cancer blood specialist who, after testing and seeing the result, remarked the test was roughly inaccurate 70%… of the time and he felt it would be too expensive to chase a ghost he felt did not exist. My followup with Dr Young after that result did not result in the same cavalier attitude and he order a CT scan performed, the single result I can access via MyChart indicates a reading 25% above the 'normal' range. So this is still ongoing. Although I still have no idea what it means until another appointment, doing some research on the appendix cancer showed if it were not caught and metastasized I would have less than 5 years survival rating at best. Although Dr Young was simply serendipitous being in the right place and the right time, the followup care has exceeded my expectations by far. His own in-depth explanations have generously expanded my own knowledge in a positive way. Even if the final final results end up with cancer again, this man has proven to me he is going to do his best with this anonymous patient he operated on that day, and I trust he will do his best no matter what the outcome may ultimately be. Dr Young has every appearance, and action according to the highest standards you rarely see in the average doctor. His own peer reviews when I have spoken with other Doctors are held with the deep conviction he is simply the best in our geographic area and would be welcomed at any supposed prestigious hospitals in the country. That is my experience, and though your mileage may vary, I am an extremely satisfied patient with family history of cancer going back 3+ generations. I'll take what he can give me and be happy with it.

Dr young is an exceptional surgeon he prayed with me before surgery and is very attentive...i don't want to every have another surgery but if i should i'd want him in the operating room with me EVERY TIME!!! A beautiful soul!!!

Dr. Young was the best doctor we ever had at GHS. My father passed away but Dr. Young was instrumental in guidance and explaining to us the prognosis which was 100% accurate. I would trust Dr. Young with any of my family and friend's care!

Diagnosed acute diverticulitis with abscess immediately and effectively treated the abscess to the point that surgery could be performed without doing a colostomy. Would highly recommend to all!

Dr. Young was recommended by another trusted friend and physician for an issue that was most certainly not the easiest to diagnose. Immediately he was able to put me at ease which allowed my nerves to calm and my memory and best recollection of answers to his questions to flow. He is truly an exceptional physician. I left with a feeling of calm and certainty that was definitely a welcome change for me. He makes you feel as though you are the only patient that he has, with a warm and caring persona that begins from the minute he comes into the exam room. I will be forever grateful.
