Dr. Tiffany Hwa, MD

I used to have an amazing ENT at Penn (Dr. Brant) who moved out of state so I was referred to Dr. Hwa. I met with her one time to establish myself as a new patient so that when I had an emergency (acute hearing loss and vertigo) I could get in promptly for an injection that has saved my hearing in the past. While my introduction to Dr. Hwa was fine, she will not be there for you in an emergency. I recently experienced debilitating vertigo and acute hearing loss with distortion and she will not make time for me for 3 weeks. Dr. Brandt always, always got me in within a week when these things happened as time is of the essence to save hearing. Not only would she not get me in but not response to messages on the portal. Her lack of care and concern for her patients is disheartening. Further, there was a mix up with my appointment time as I thought she was getting me in right away. I showed up to the office yesterday to find out that my appointment was scheduled weeks out. Since I was in… the office and Dr Hwa was there I asked she could please see me. I waited an hour only to learn that she would not accommodate. How could a doctor who takes the hippocratic oath turn down a patient who is in their waiting room knowing they are suffering!? So this morning I reached out to Dr. Hwa again on the portal asking for a Prednisone script since she couldn’t see me anytime soon …quite frankly she should have offered this when I initially reached out knowing she wasn’t going to see me for weeks (something Dr. Brant always offered). Once again NO response not even from a nurse. The lack of any response or care for my wellbeing is disheartening. I called Jefferson today to explain the situation and guess what, they got me in with a top ENT today and I got an injection. Amazing that a doctor I wasn’t established with made me a priority. Go to Jefferson for your ENT needs …their doctors are top notch, caring and their facility is brand new.

Horrible experience with her office. This is my doctor who I see for ear issues. Couldn't get an appointment with anyone in the group even though I was literally bleeding out of my ear and the ER stated I needed to be seen by the ENT group as soon as possible. Next Available more than 30 days out. That was after spending 45 minutes being transferred to many (rude) people that apparently don't know what they are doing. Jefferson got me an appointment within 24 hours.
