Dr. Timothy Brown, MD

Dr. Timothy Brown is now part of SMG Division of Urology at St. Elizabeths Medical Center In Brighton, MA. I made an appointment to see him a week after my PSA was super high after my yearly physical with my PCP who is in the same building at 11 Nevins Steet in Brighton - which is attached to St. Elizabeth's Hospital. Dr. Brown is a really thorough and awesome doctor! His bedside manner is great and he seems genuinely concerned about my issue and he seemed aware that I was a bit worried and helped me temper my worry answering my questions about my issue. In between appointments Dr. Brown was also very fast to respond to my email to him thru the SMG/Athena portal about my re-test - he got back to me the same day which was really helpful and he also gave me important insight into what I shouldn't do before a PSA re-test. One was not to ride a bike which can throw off the PSA results. I was planning biking to work the days leading up to the re-test - so that was awesome - would have… sucked to not know that and have another high PSA test. On my follow-up my re-rest was normal, which I was obviously relived about! We spent a large chunk of time going over and answering questions about my reproductive health and his tips and advice about starting a family with my wife. I wasn't there to discuss these issues obviously but since my re-test was normal I asked him pretty much every question that had crossed my mind. Dr. Brown was awesome answering all of my questions in detail, even drawing diagrams to help me understand my own anatomy. Dr. Brown is def a great additional to SMG Urology Team and if you have any issue going on I highly recommend making an appointment to see him.

Have been under his care for almost a year. He is professional, caring, thorough and kind. I'm very, very happy to have him as my specialist.

I was on a business trip to Boston and ended up in Mass Gen's ER department 2x. I saw Dr. Brown the 2nd time and for remainder of my 4 day stay where he diagnosed the issue w/my R kidney and inserted a stent. I was extremely pleased with both the hospital and Dr. Brown. He is tremendous. I was even more impressed when I returned to NC and he himself called me on 2 separate occasions post my visit/release to/from MassGen. The 2nd call came in early Nov to inquire how I was doing and asked what I was going to do about my kidney and I advised I was having it removed as it was not repairable. He chuckled as this is the same diagnosis he gave me whilst I was at MassGen post stent surgery.
