Dr. Timothy Chong

I am a pain doctor in Denver, and my friend in San Diego asked about Dr. Chong for his low back pain. After not being able to play basketball with his son and golf, he is now "pain free". Had to share! Thanks Dr. Chong! -Dr. Clapp

Place is a scam they are zero interested in helping the patient, they want to give you shot after shot that helps very minimal for your benefit and helps their pockets get fat at your expense to keep you comong back because pain medication dont pay their bills and medication is the only thing that is truly giving me a better quality of life,i was in a t bone car crash at 70 and i was on a motorcycle and the car i hit was at a dead stop i work full time hard, i told the pa gordon for months the meds he was giving me was not effective, anymore so i took more one time ,i came in told him that i ran out early ,before he asked me anything , he flips out ,instead of explaining that i cant do that the practice acts like im a criminal and starts treating me like im a drug addict takes my med puts me on weaker meds and what a shocker lines me up fomore shots on shots on shots so ,i decided to just suffer and go their anymore ,i could not deal with the pain any more i gave them another chance to… see if i could get back on track because i had a good repore with dr chong so i thought ,i made another appointment to get going again after more shots and meds that hurt my liver which fyi ,i have a bad liver already prescribes me 18, 5ml norco for two weeks,5-325 which is extremely bad for my liver and not effective when my last script was 120 10 -325 for a month where do these people get a license to help people and have no idea what im going through,i feel as they care aless about my over all well being or health and want to keep you in pain to collect off my insurance and co pays ,because lets face it they get nothing for writing scripts they get money from procedures at my expense, also i have been a marijuana user since doc recs were first here the pa Gordon told me to continue to smoke they never said nothing about it needing a rec and he told me to use regularly as i always have ,it became legal now,vand at my appointment they told me i need to get a doc rec all of a sudden, also im a veteran of the usmc ,they care nothing about you and beat around the bush instead of being straight up with you, ill be getting my records and choosing a new location to go to where the doctors care about me and not their pockets as top priority, when i called to tell the lady that works in the office i need a copy of my records ,and i was upset because im tired of the games ,she goes on this im disrespecting her lol lil kid millennials, disrespect themselfs I hardly need toobut ya again all about them and in short tells me she is medical records and she can slow the process, of me getting a copy of my records .i need to find a doctor with compassion and not a vindictive practice. I have spinal damage not a sprained ankle, save your money and time go else where.trust me your nothing but a cash cow to them !!!!

I was referred to him by my primary doc and because he's so close to home, I ignored the reviews. HUGE MISTAKE! He is without a doubt the worst doctor I've ever encountered! He expresses no emotion and won't personally engage with his patients. I had a medication regiment that was effective for the last 6 years until I suffered trauma. Dr. Chong prescribed new meds that were ineffective, but I guess he didn't believe me. It sure didn't matter that I was in excruciating pain several days later. I called his office and got nowhere. Finally, I got an appointment, but it was with his PA. The PA excused himself form the treatment room, and returned with word that Dr. Chong wouldn't let him change anything. Two weeks later I had another appointment with Dr. Chong. He didn't even acknowledge my pain or make any effort to understand that my quality of life has significantly declined because of the new medication regiment he prescribed. He refused to switch me back or make any changes… until he could be sure there were no side effects. In other words, come back in 2 weeks for a re-evaluation. My wife came back with me and pleaded with him to listen to the depth of my pain and get him to put me back on my original regiment. He wasn't interested in engaging with her. I asked him if there was some reason he wouldn't help me. He said "I'm not emotional, see... this is purely a professional decision". He is a cold hearted individual and does not empathize with his patients or show any consideration for them as human beings. He is devoid of emotion. And to make things worse, his office staff is totally incompetent and unprofessional. He is without a doubt the worst doctor I've ever encountered!

What was most memorable was this... I had discontinued the pain meds as I wished to not take them anymore. Instead of encouraging me, he fired me as a patient!! I am over 3 years off ALL meds now without him and doing very well!! This experience was humiliating at that time as well as baffling. Be careful and seek 2nd opinions before accepting treatment.

He is nice but don't remember what he told you on your last visit. He says he is going to do this to you and when you show up he can only do half and drags it into 4 more appointments as you have part done then follow up, then the other half done, then follow up "cost more money". Dose not return calls you must make an appointment to to get a ? answered "cost you money". Always changing his mind and cost you more money. Plan on seeing him at least 3 times a month "money money money".

very bad doctor.only thinking abught milking (abusing)insurance company.I wont recomend this doctor even to my worse people.

He was very rushed during my initial clinic experience. Often rude when I was telling him symptoms concerning my knee. I would not return again.
