Dr. Timothy James Harkins, DO

I had issues with this doctor from day 1. He is a very nice man but a terrible doctor and the office and staff are even worse. It’s impossible to get ahold of them and when you do they never do their job. I had a high risk pregnancy during covid 19 and ended up having to switch OBs during my 5th month because of the lack of care I was receiving and his inability to give good medical care. To add to that... his office tested me for infection, which came back positive but they didn’t inform me or call in an antibiotic until a week later. My neurologist and epilepsy specialist said that because I wasn’t treated for the infection quick enough that it caused me to have seizures and I was hospitalized for them. I still gave him a chance after that as it was the office fault and not his. Then I got a yeast infection from the antibiotics and called them everyday for a week with no response... further adding to my seizure risk. I eventually had to get care for that elsewhere. Then my pregnancy… took a turn for the worse where I could barely walk and was having seizures and bedridden and under close care of my neurologist. My husband had to wheel chair me in to my other doctor appointments but when we went to a prenatal visit with Harkins, I tried to walk the best I could while leaning on my husband for support. We both were negative for fever and had mask on. We had been seen by other prisma doctors and offices who understood my condition and that my husband needed to be with me, dr. Harkins came out and refused my husbands entry while I could barely stand up, my husband was supporting me. This broke prisma covid guidelines as we had permission as a special circumstance. I was denied care again.... all while I’m high risk. I had to find another OB half way through my pregnancy. Also he did an ultra sound without another woman in the room which I find to be inappropriate. If I ever complain it never helped me receive better care so... eventually we just decided to go with another OB. I wouldn’t waste time with this doctor. He doesn’t seem bright as well as he quoted me inaccurate medical information and statistics which I later had confirmed with fetal specialist that said his information was never true so he seems uneducated to me or maybe he’s just so old he makes the choice not to stay up to date with medical literature? I don’t know. Either way... I wouldn’t trust this man delivering my baby or with my own healthcare. Quality of care was the worst I’ve ever experienced in my life. I can’t recall ever complaining about another doctor my entire life except him.

this dr caused me to be hospitalized in the georgia burn unit for 11 days. knew what was wrong and still sent me home. could have caused my unborn child to die. he should have his privilege to practice medicine revoked.

May 7th had to have a hysterectomy done. I am so thankful to have had dr Harkins do it, every time I looked he was beside my bed, long story short, I was behind on my fluids and thanks to him, he sat at my bedside squeezing bags of fluid so I could get fluids faster. Thanks so much dr Harkins. To all the ladies in the office thank you for being so understanding as well. The best dr of the year award goes to him!

Dr. Harlin's and Coke are fantastic Doctors. I recommend them to everyone .

I would not recommend anyone to this dr!!! Thank god i had a second opinion because he was of no help! Went there with abnormal bleeding for a month which he didnt do a ultrasound check a hgb nothing! Once i got my second opinion she did my pap which came back abnormal and my ultrasound showed a fibroid and what maybe a polyp, im still in the process of figuring out whats going on through my new ob office n procedures! Wouldn't want any one else getting misdiagnosed! There never was a follow up on his end so that star shouldn't be there at all.

Excellent care and such a beautiful office. Laurens County is fortunate to have it.

The overall experience was wonderful. Harkins was very compassionate and really cared about my healthcare needs. Would highly recommend him.

I have been to Dr. Harkins three times. He has been courteous and professional. He included my husband and myself in the decision making. I enjoy him very much.

This doctor does not document patient records completely and therefore cannot give adequate medical care in any situation. He will not consider the opinion of others and his arrogant bedside manner is dangerous. He is incompetent.
