Another case of a Doctor thinking they know more than the parents.

Over all hes a great doctor but my daughter has pku and he had no idea about what that is also seems really hung up on weight and that my daughter even though shes off the charts for hight always seems to make her weight a problem. Pku means she cant have any kinds of protein so she eats mostly fruits and vegetables and that makes up her diet so shes a lottle over the mark for weight she hasnt gained weight she stays the same she even loses weight when she has a growth spurt but shes a young girl and she understands what people say now and she hears him ralking to us about how its so important that she loses weight. Shes just a kid and shes not like 100 pounds over weight and its not like all she eats is junk food she eats really really healthy thats the only problem i have with him is his concern about weight

No knowledge of my child's disease or plan of care (but gave inaccurate information including inaccurate statistics), no compassion, poor knowledge of protocols. Wouldn't let him treat my dog! He was rude, pushy, had a terrible bedside manner in general! This man is unprofessional and insensitive.

Dr. Hawkins has treated my son since he was born. In the earliest days, I was in the office on a weekly basis. Dr. Hawkins always made the time to discuss all aspects of my son's health and even took the time to make sure I was handling post-partum emotions.
