Dr. Timothy Joe Hillbrick, DO

I was having chest pains, and Dr. Hillbricht acted quickly, diagnosed me with stable angina, had an EKG done, immediately referred me to a cardiologist, gave me scrip for Nitroglycerin with easy to understand instructions, then when I called for further instruction after I had pain (now unstable angina) in the early morning hours, was told to go to the ER immediately where I had angioplasty and stent. (done by the cardiologist) When you are in the middle of chest pains, and close to a heart attack your thinking gets muddled, after all it is pretty scary, and Dr. Hillbricht made it all a lot easier to cope with, by his clear instruction. I trust him more than any other doctor now.

My experience with this Doctor was terrible. He was very arrogant with me and ended up giving wrong diagnosis and belittling me. This put me in The ER several days later when I was unable to move. My MRI showed I had an injury. His response was very dismissive. I lost trust eventually being treated by this entire practice terribly for asking to switch doctors. In 27 physicians they could not find 1 for me to have consistent help. A Woman's most important relationship is with her Doctor. This Practice failed me miserably. I am now after 2 years going back to my previous physician. She is excellent. Lots of info at Healthgrades.com and Yelp.com too about this practice.

Easy in; easy out; minimal care. All four members of our family saw him for 2-3 years, with various types of insurance. It was easy and quick to get an appointment and he personable but very perfunctory in his care. In two years he never touched me, just taking my word for everything and letting his nurse get any readings. He also was very slow to give recommendations to specialists (cardiologist, orthopedic, endocrinologist), no matter how serious the problem. He seemed more interested in keeping the cost of medical care down than in seeing that you got the treatment you needed. He finally refused to fill out any more paperwork for our older son for a job-related injury and we all decided we needed a better doctor than this. This practice could use more knowledgeable (older?) front desk and appointment staff.

Pleasant doctor, however, no one could tell me how much the cost would be. We had to pay the "new patient" fee for not going to the group in over 4 years. Imagine my surprise and disgust when we were billed over $380 for a short new patient visit. Unfortunately, you will be penalized financially for being healthy and not needing to go to this practice/doctor more than the prescribed number of times in a particular number of years.

First visit. Seems like a real good, knowledgeable DR. Spent all the time I needed. Not pressured or hurried at all. Very polite staff.

I've worked in healthcare for 30+ years, and this is a great doctor. He listens, wraps his brain quickly around symptoms, considers patient preferences for outcomes and gives excellent feedback. Carson City is fortunate to have him!

For a first time visit, Dr. Hillbrick listened to my concerns and gave me the attention needed to address issues I was having. His PDA does take some time to get a script to go to your pharmacy but overall he had his assistant call me the next day to assure that my scripts were sent in. I see nothing wrong with this doctor and I'm happy to have him as my family doc.

This Dr. is never in his office. If you want a late appointment you can forget it. He takes forever to refill a prescription or read lab results. Find another doctor that actually cares.
