Dr. Timothy James Horrigan, MD

I have personally worked with Dr. Horrigan before I became a patient, so I know him outside of the patient realm and have seen what kind of person he is. His intentions are to give the best treatment and methods to every patient that comes to him. He doesn't just throw a prescription at you and call it a day. He is very wise, caring, and thorough when it comes to treatment. He actually cares about his patients and gets to know them so he can help you.

Since my first visit, he has misdiagnosed me on more than one occasion to include telling me that I had herpes of the skin on my chin which ended up being diagnosed, treated and cured by a dermatologist as dermatitis. I looked up herpes of the skin and it doesn't even exist! He will not give referrals as he will tell you that he is trained in every medical field and can treat anything. My OBGYN told me that I needed to go to Karmanos to be seen for an irregular pap during my pregnancy and Dr Horrigan would not give me the referral I needed until I came to him first to be seen and diagnosed by him. As if I needed the extra aggravation and stress after being told I needed to go to Karmanos! Of course after he got my money, he finally gave me a referral. Well now, I have finally changed PCP and he now wants over $100.00 to transfer my records to a new PCP. What a surprise! He's wanted nothing but money from me from the very beginning. It has been just ridiculous dealing with him and his… office for these past 7 years. I wish I would have changed physicians much sooner. Btw, I have incidentally found other people who have been past patients of his who have told me similar stories of his practices and they have also moved on. Wish I knew sooner. Please take my experience and steer clear of this office for medical care needs.

As a patient since 1997, I have found that Dr. H. spends as much time as I need discussing my medical prob. at that time. No need to pick up a magazine, as you are seen promptly!

Doctor is an exceptional listener. Knowledgeable and up-to-date, but not interested in hurrying into every test under the sun. Uses a common sense approach that seems best for the patient. Genuinely interested in looking at the whole picture and making it better. Thank you.

Doctor does not care about his patients. The first thing the office asks you is to pay before you see the doctor. No follow up and you have to drive to get your referrals they will not pay for the less that 50 cent stamps

Wonderful Doctor! Staff who make appointments should just make the appointment and when you need an answer from Dr. Horrigan they should just ask the Nurse to ask him, without adding their two cents first.

I have been seeing Dr. Horrigan for some five years now. I started seeing him quarterly then semi-annually as needed to keep my diabetes in check. He treats me as a whole person, not a person with a disease. He listens to what I have to say and seems to understand that I too have a life outside of my diabetes. He appreciates that I can manage this disease with his help and my own discipline, that I don't expect him to be the cure all and that I have to take ownership of this condition. I enjoy our visits and as a older male patient don't fear going regularly to see him. He is there to help and guide me in managing my diabetes.

Dr. Horrigan is a very caring and compassionate man. He does not just go through the motions...he truly cares about people. He is what other doctors should aspire to be. You will not only leave his office with your wounds dressed, but also with a feeling that you are part of a family. You could not be in better hands.

Exceptional bedside manner - very caring. Not arrogant. Doesn't make you wait an eternity and then keep one foot outside the door like other doctors. He spends enough time with his patients. He is extremely capable, but if he doesn't have an answer he will refer you to a specialist who does.

The man needs to learn the meaning of pain and respect it. If he is capable of achieving that, he needs to learn how to keep his patients comfortable with whatever pain measure is possible. My GASTROENTEROLOGIST had to over step him the few times I was hospitalized!
